I help artists, musicians, bands and management undergoing conflict between themselves or with 3rd parties to find their own mutually agreed solutions. It’s an alternative way of solving problems that would traditionally have generated hostility, bad feeling and possibly legal action, leading to one-sided outcomes at best, or spiraling out of control with possibly more severe consequences. I offer
an affordable, solution focused process, which allows participants to communicate on a far more effective level than previously possible, in a fair and balanced way. Because of my extensive experience in the industry I have a total understanding of the disputes than can occur, so can establish immediate empathy with all participants and proceed without it wasting any more of anybody’s time. All information received is strictly confidential and everything is under NDA. People involved in conflict of any sort often lose perspective and the situation can become heated or acrimonious. I am neutral and impartial with no emotional or financial stake in the outcome, so am able to remain clear-headed and calm. I facilitate a process where the original facts and issues, often forgotten, are re-identified. The playing field is even and the agreed goal for all participants is to find a solution that everybody is happy with. Some common situations or issues are conflict occurring:
• Between band members (for example on tour, in the studio or over creative matters and writing splits)
• Between band and management (for example regarding achievement or perceived lack of it, commission, post-term issues.)
• Between band/management and label/distributor over terms/performance/achievement or perceived lack of it.
• Over financial/accounting issues and queries, internally and externally.
• Over unresolved or unpaid invoices.
• Over dissatisfaction with service/ withholding of payment.
• Over creative and marketing disagreement or issues.
• Over rights and ownership issues.
• Within a team or plan gone out of control with loss of direction
• Where clear-headed Crisis Management is necessary. Ultimately it’s a process that saves time and money, restores productivity and enables everybody to achieve the best possible results in their work without the shadow of unresolved conflict hanging over them.
