Kent Weatherby enjoyed an exciting career as a trial lawyer for the United States Justice Department before leaving to become an Assistant Attorney General for the Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands (a United Nations Trusteeship). During the Vietnam
War he served in the United State Army Reserve as Investigating Officer in a War Crimes Team. Upon his return to the United States he became a corporate lawyer where his prior international law experience once more led him to the Pacific Rim. As a writer Weatherby draws on his rich experience as a prosecutor, investigator and overseas adventurer. Among his many hobbies he has enjoyed backpacking, hiking, climbing and scuba diving. He has a unique writing style influenced by Joseph Conrad, Graham Greene and John LeCarre and numerous mystery writers. In his current work, The Parlous Trilogy, he takes discredited former cop turned insurance investigator Stannard (St Jack) Jackson into the seedy side of life and the occult in Kansas City where he comes face-to-face with demons he thought were long dead. The trilogy, Death in the Rear View Mirror (released in October 2012), Stone Cold Alive (scheduled for release early in 2013) with the concluding novel Will Evil Never Die to follow four months later launch Weatherby into a genre he is uniquely qualified to take the reader. Educated at both Washburn University and the University of Kansas he studied English and Economics as an undergraduate. He earned a Juris Doctor from Washburn University in 1966. He currently lives in Kansas City.
