Working closely with the film’s Director, DOP, Production Designer and Production VFX Supervisor, VFX Supervisor Jonathan Fawkner (landing his fourth Oscar nomination!) and his team helped amplify the film’s sense of magic, working on a range of epic environments and note-perfect CG characters. Our work also included concept art courtesy of our in-house art department, as well as previs and postvis via Framestore Pre-production Services (FPS).

We’re introducing our last (and probably our fav) Imaginary Friend, the larger-than-life Blue!
With his oversized presence, vibrant purple and cartoonish charm, we had to ensure his design was both tangible and flexible. From early concept art to pre-production tests, we worked closely with Writer/Director John Krasinski to map out Blue’s scale, movement, and performance. Every shot was hand-animated, ensuring Blue’s character felt real and relatable despite his enormity.

Meet Blossom, the Fleischer-esque IF
Blossom is a delightful fusion of old-school charm and modern animation. Inspired by Betty Boop, but with a 3D twist, we worked hard to preserve her 1940s vibe while making sure her design was appealing from every angle. Creating Blossom required a delicate balance involving a lot of back-and-forth between 2D sketches and 3D modeling to perfect her look.
