Tranquil, serene and peaceful home away from home with stunning views of the Great Rift Valley. Located only 1hr away from Karen in Champagne Ridge off Magadi Rd. This beautiful, rustic, private, cosy home is ideal for couples looking to escape!! The entire house and property offers privacy and peace with champagne worthy views. The house sits on top of a cliff with the balcony hanging off. The vi

ew is spectacular and demands your immediate attention, forcing you to stand still and literally gush in awe of it!! The balcony which is a sturdy hanging wooden deck, allows for you to pull out seats to enjoy the views and pop open your drinks as the grill works on your nyama choma. What better way to spend a relaxed afternoon with your better half! The down stairs plan is open with the living, bar (drinking area) and kitchen areas give way to the views as you enjoy your cooking, lounging or sipping away on your favorite drink! The kitchen is equipped with a gas fridge and two cooker (not oven) which uses gas and is fully equipped with the necessities such as pans, pots, cutlery, etc. The living area has a fireplace to keep you warm and cosy on those cold nights (and an excuse to cuddle up)! There are board games such as monopoly and scrabble to enjoy, as well as Twister. There are also plenty of books to keep you indulged as well as a healthy collection of DVDs to enjoy on your laptops. There is also a CD player, so be sure to bring out your old CDs to dance to your old fave tracks. Candles and two kerosene lamps are available to enjoy a private romantic evening. The upstairs is also open plan with the bed overlooking the view... and so does the shower!! The bedroom also comes with it's own private balcony where you can sunbathe or pull up a seat and enjoy a peaceful read if the sun allows! There is an instant hot shower which relies on gas. The house is eco friendly. Water is harvested from the rain and stored in large wells on the property. The house relies on solar! There is plenty to see and do in this very safe and secure area. Plenty of wildlife such as baboon, dikdik, antelopes, buffalo, zebra and rock hyraxes can be sighted from the house as you enjoy a glass of wine or beer. One can also enjoy birdwatching from either the comfort of the house or while out hiking in this serene environment. The property is fenced off to conserve the indigenous flora and fauna on site however we recommend venturing out of the property to explore. There are plenty of masai herdsmen with their cows, goats and sheep in the area who will happily welcome you to the area. For those who are more adventurous; hikes in and out of the valley are highly recommended. There are plenty of caves to explore; in fact the house sits on top of a cave! For those who enjoy cycling, the environment offers some tough challenges in and out of the valley which you will thoroughly enjoy or for those who prefer easy riding, the roads are not busy and the surrounding environment above the cliffs offer for great adventures and plenty of sightings of thompson gazelles and zebras AND you still get to enjoy the views. Motor biking is also recommended for those who enjoy dirt biking! Olurur Hse is accessible via Corner Baridi off Magadi Rd, 1hr from Karen via Ngong Rd, 1hr from Langata via Rongai, 30mins from Kiserian town and 45mins from Ngong town and 10mins away from Champagne Rally Park (Off Rd 4x4 rally challenge park). Champagne Ridge is located on the Magadi end (not Ngong town end) of the Ngong Hills. The road is dirt road, we recommend 4x4 cars however for those brave, tough drivers; low cars will do fine (the pro boxes manage well...they are the public mode of transport in this area)! (Unfortunately we can not get the right GPS coordinates off facebook/ google maps to pinpoint exact location). The house is absolutely pet friendly but NOT child friendly. There is a cat on sight to give the caretaker some fury company! Charcoal, firewood and kerosene available at an extra cost.
