Molly's Cottage has been above and beyond what we had planned when we purchased the property from a beautiful family in September of 2018. Beautiful Molly raised her family here, and we were fortunate enough to have the opportunity to host many families and friends over the past 5 years. Molly's Cottage was able to provide short-term rental to families transitioning to the area as well as traveling medical staff.

With all of this being said, you are right if you get the sense that this is leading to something. We have decided to put Molly's for sale. There is a "Coming Soon" listing now available. The flowers in the front of Molly’s were a great find at the Deerwood Summerfest!!!

Got a picture with a sweetheart from the new Hudson_218 in Ironton (only 1 mile from Molly’s). Such a welcoming environment with great staff!! Didn’t get a chance to have any food but did have a delicious “Mango Nojito Mocktail!” Can’t wait to go back and hang out!! They have it all, and there is even a spot to park your bikes inside😀.

Confessions of an AirBNB owner - when you plan on cleaning and getting home at a decent time but end up at the Deerwood Summerfest, Hudson_218 in Ironton, Red Raven (walk across the street from Molly’s) for lunch, and not getting home until 2:30 a.m.😬. The vendors at the Deerwood Summerfest were amazing!!! Was a little too late to take pictures of what I bought, but will make sure I share when I return. I do not like to post these achievements, but this is very exciting for us! What a way to start out the new year!!!! Molly’s Cottage has been able to keep Super Host status!!!!

If you are interested in learning more about our experience with Molly's Cottage, I am more than happy to share. Having an AirBNB has been one of the toughest but greatest experiences. I have become knowledgeable in basic repairs, employment opportunities, history of the Crosby community, ins and outs of permits and City requirements as well as County. I am an advocate for first timers to the outdoor experiences that Cuyuna has to offer; in Cuyuna I experienced the hybrid skis (cross between snow shoes and cross country skis rented from Cykel), fat tire biking by a professional biker, Kathy Jo - Molly’s daughter), kayaking in the mine pits in a clear kayak rented by Cuyuna Outfitters, hiking with Ginny (another one of Molly’s daughters) on the Minnesota State Trails, and hopefully my next experience will be renting a fat tire bike and hitting the beautiful snow groomed trails.

My favorite experience has been falling in love with the people of Crosby and their support for all the changes to their community. My Father-in-Law is from Crosby and shares many memories about growing up in the area. I also get to stay in touch with the Milberry family (the children of Molly) who are like family to me now.

I am getting a little windy, but those that know me are thinking, “you think she’s chatty on FB you should talk to her in person🥺!”

Don’t let the temperatures stop you from getting out!!!! We were fortunate enough to get to enjoy Crosby on the last day of 2021 and the first day of 2022. So thankful for the Crosby-Ironton community. This is a little snippet of what we did today! Thanks Cykel for the ski rentals and the wonderful customer service. There are activities that I have been intimidated to try because of the kind of person I think I need to be to do them. It’s people like the owners of Cykel that assure me that all are welcome!!!! Experienced and inexperienced, 4 layers of pants or top of the line snow pants, warming packs for my boots or the best boots money can buy; what I’m trying to say is to not limit your experiences because what you think you need to have to do it, just get out there and do it!!!!!! Thank you Cykel!!!!!!!!!!

This entire adventure in Crosby has been quite an experience for the Haag Family. I have learned to drill, lay laminate flooring, paint, swear (I already knew how to do that, but it really came back fast at certain times), work with others, stay calm, use the right screws and the right tools (thanks to my Dad), and learned that it is easier to keep a house clean 3 1/2 hours away than it is the one you live in - duh?!?!? Thanks for all who have helped promote Molly's Cottage. I'll do my best to post pictures of happenings in Crosby. There are so many things to do in this little town and two new businesses will be opening soon within steps of Molly's Cottage; Rafferty's Pizza and the Rave. I'll post more information on the local businesses and events as they come along. If you are interested, check out the link for availability and rates. Right now there is a two night minimum. Summer is booking up fast, but there are some opening left on the weekends.
