Hello my name is Valerie and dare I say I am a van life person now …. ?!?! 🚐
ONE MONTH on the road and my has it been a whirlwind! Originally I planned to document my travels from day one — but as the first exhausting week went by and then the second , I realized that I needed this first month to myself. I needed time to just breathe when I had a moment and not spend my nights editing.
So I told myself — you have one month of vacation, then back to work. So here I am— 4 weeks in, still exhausted, still trying to get my bearings about myself but shall I say— getting there?!
To live on the road is definitely not for the faint of heart. It sometimes feels like you haven’t slept in days and all you want is a sofa to lay on and movie to watch. It’s usually always too cold or too hot and doing simple tasks are really never simple. Weather is crazy — It tends to rain right after you set up camp and your very tiny space becomes messy in a blink of the eye. So acceptance of a dirty floor is really step one.
But with those lows always comes highs and boy are they pretty from up here. This first month has been spent mostly in Colorado. We took one week to travel from south Florida to Boulder and then 3 weeks exploring. We went to Rocky Mountain NP, Garden of the Gods, Pike National Forest and camped along the 11 mile Canyon. We camped at Grand Lake, Great Sand Dunes, Lake George in Durango and Telluride town park. We ate amazing food, cooked under the stars and shared so much time with old friends and new. It was beautiful - it was messy and it was cold —— but boy was it worth it.
Excited to share my journey with you now… There will be some looking back at the past month of travel mixed in with our next adventure in Utah ✨🏜️🚐
