A luxury glamping site on the Isle of Arran, Scotland with 3 self catering yurts with private bathrooms, lots of space in nature and close to the beach and local facilities. Runach Arainn ('Secret or Beloved Arran' in Gaelic) is a small, intimate glamping (glamorous camping) site on the south end of the Isle of Arran, Scotland. We offer luxury self-catering accommodation in 20ft diameter yurts acc

ompanied by private bathrooms. We are an ideal holiday destination for families and couples looking for a short break or a longer vacation. With our proper double beds, wood burning stoves, firepits and sofas we are definitely at the glamorous end of camping! Our site is set in a small orchard near the village of Kilmory where we have two Scottish made larch wood frame yurts. Each yurt comes fully equipped with all you will need for your holiday including bedding, towels, crockery and cooking utensils. Each yurt can sleep up to six people and is ideal for a romantic break for a couple or as a base for an adventurous family holiday.

Runach Arainn is a sustainable eco glamping business based around a food forest garden with permaculture practices at its heart. The business was designed around nature, with sustainable practice at the centre. From day one they incorporated ‘green’ practices into both how the business itself works and in all areas on site for guests.

By investing in this way, they try to:

lessen their environmental impact
demonstrate sustainable practice
enhance the environment around them
create a beautiful, relaxing natural site and
offer amazing sustainable holidays without compromising quality or luxury.

From their butterfly filled meadow and rare Arran whitebeam trees, to the abundant food forest garden and red squirrels around site, they hope you would enjoy staying and engaging with your surroundings.

A easy way to save the aroma of these lovely flowers to have around the house all winter. Best dried lying flat or hung upside down so the stalks dry straight for arranging ( takes about a week to dry) and then have fun arranging in vases and bunches (and any loose bits can go in scented bags ) ❤️

Feeding the bees 🐝
These contact feeders contain sugar syrup to help the bees build up stores ready for the winter. Each contain about 1 kg of sugar with water to make a thick syrup and they will take it all in about a week 😋. It’s not been a good year for bees here on Arran after a poor winter too, but we were fortunate to get a wee bit of honey and have 4 strong colonies going into the winter. 😊
