Agadir is a major modern city in the southern part of Morocco. It is of interest primarily because of its location, as it is surrounded by the Anti Atlas, the Sahara Desert on the Atlantic coast with many national parks, and secluded beaches which are all easily accessible.

Larache, like the other towns on this stretch of coast, is sleepy and laid-back for most of the year, bursting into life in summer when Moroccan tourists come to the beach. The charming town otherwise sees few visitors. The new town has some grand Spanish-era architecture, particularly around the central Pl de la Libération (the former Plaza de España), while the tiny crumbling medina is worth a stroll. North of the river Loukos on the edge of town sit the overgrown ruins of ancient Lixus, the legendary site of the Garden of the Hesperides.

North of the river Loukos on the edge of town sit the overgrown ruins of ancient Lixus, the legendary site of the Garden of the Hesperides.

Larache was occupied by the Spanish for most of the 17th century. The port activities were limited because of some dangerous sandbars offshore, but the locals made ships for the corsairs further south. It became the main port of the Spanish protectorate in 1911. Today the whitewashed houses with blue doors, the church, the market, the HOTELSand bars still reveal the strength of the Spanish influence. The town may be as picturesque as Assilah, but it gets far fewer visitors and has none of the hustle.

All Larachians seem to come out for the paseo (evening stroll) in the centre of town. The cafes and few restaurants fill up as the locals drink coffee, play cards and chew over the day’s events, and by 10pm the streets are again deserted.

The French writer Jean Genet loved the bay of Larache and although he died in France, he was buried here.

http://whereinmorocco.com/dt_places/taroudant/

Taroudant is a market town rather than a city; it has a predominantly Berber population who are well known for their friendliness.  Its town walls are more complete than any other town in Morocco, and glow majestically in shades of GOLD, pink and ORANGE depending on the time of day. Taroudant is half citadel and half oasis, and its souks are reputed to be the best in the south, offering much better value for money than the souks of for example Marrakech. Being off the main tourist trail, Taroudant offers visitors an authentic glimpse of everyday life in a relaxed atmosphere – a thoroughly more chilled out experience than Marrakech.

Its location offers great diversity for sightseers, and is well placed for use as a base from which to explore the surrounding area; the beautifully unspoilt Atlantic coast to the South of Agadir just an hour or so away, the High and Anti Atlas Mountains both within easy reach, and abundant oases through the Souss Valley.

It is also the warmest town in Morocco from November to March, with temperatures rarely dropping much below 22 degrees C – yet in summer the cool Canaries breeze prevents it from being the hottest.

Taroudant is only an hour’s drive from Agadir and its International airport and about a 3 hour drive from Marrakech. The walls, the souks and the dramatic backdrop of the High Atlas are the town’s main attractions and the best way to see the town is by horse drawn carriage – especially at dusk. The souks are not very big, but they are varied and packed with traditional local craft, much of it of outstanding quality.

operations for local touring. Most of what you want to see is not in Ouarzazate, but around it. You do not need to enter the centrally located Taourirt Kasbah, as it is empty, crumbling and unimpressive (and will overcharge you). You will get the very best impression of it from the street (for free). The kasbahs outside the city, such as Aït-Benhaddou, are far better. Spend your time planning day trips from the city, and you’ll see what the city itself has to offer just by staying there, eating and passing through.

it Benhaddou – one of the best preserved Kasbahs and a fantastic day trip from Ouarzazate. It has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. A beige grand taxi can take you to Aït-Benhaddou, wait for you for a couple of hours (you pay the full amount when you arrive back in Ouarzazate) and drive you back for 200 dirhams. See Ait-Benhaddou for more infos about bus. Very picturesque place, lots of movies were shot there (Gladiator), and more recently, hit HBO series “Game of Thrones”. 10 dirham to visit kasbahs (or use exit). You don’t need a guide, but locals will follow you pretending to help and at the end will ask for money. Be careful not to get too wet from the river when crossing it, since there’s been reports of Schistosomiasis contracted from the water. Be ready to climb stairs! For the best photos, climb the round hill next to the city. Arriving here during the sunset call to prayer is magical.
Walk along the central square behind Muhammad V at night when everyone comes out. Children play football on the square, people go eat and socialise, and you’ll get a feel for the community just walking around.
Walk to Taourirt Kasbah (2km), 10 DH
Walk to Cinema Museum (opositte of Taourirt Kasbah), 30 DH
Go to Atlas Studios. It lies about ~ 4km from town centre. Entrance ticket is 50 dirhams. Films such as Asterix & Obelix: Mission Cleopatra, Lawrence of Arabia, The Man Who Would Be King, Cleopatra, Kundun, Gladiator and Alexander, Kingdom of Heaven and Babel were shot there. Most of movie decorations are a bit crumbled, but Egyptian decorations are still impressive but in very poor condition.
Plan an expedition out to M’Hamid. A night in the Sahara is unforgettable and can be the best part of your Moroccan ADVENTURE. Ourzazate is the last big town in the south where this is easy and cheap to do. There are lots of agencies around that can ARRANGE a trek like this, though this is the more expensive way to do it. A cheaper way, if you don’t mind worrying about a few details, , go out there yourself, and negotiate an overnight in the desert with a Merzougan auberge (most of them offer overnights in the desert). and driving the way is relatively easy if you drive a stick. The roads out that way are very good and easy to navigate. The overnight in the Dunes should only cost about 300-400Dh. A grand taxi will also take you out that way and back for 150-200Dh. Everything out here is negotiable, so shop around for the best price. Local agencies also offer trips to mountain valley of Dades. Be prepared to negotiate hard otherwise they will rip you off!
CLA Studios. CLA Studios aka Dino de Laurentis Cinecitta Studios, is along the same road as Atlas Studios about a kilometer closer to Marrakech. If you can go to only one of the two studios, this is the one to go to. The Atlas Studios tour is mosly TV movies and The Mummy Returns remake. CLA has the Jerusalem set from “Kingdom of Heaven,” and a host of props. 100Dh.
Make a half-day trip to beautiful . A small paradise of vegetation in the midst of the dry hills surrounding Ouazarzate. Cross the river into Tabount, then take the road direction Agadir. After about1 km there is a signpost, from here it is about 10km by mostly unpaved roads. At the Oasis there is a auberge with restaurant. You can get there by car, taxi or rent a bike in Tabount.

The Sultan Sidi Mohammed ben Abdallah decided, in the middle of the 18th century, to rebuild ancient Anfa (the hill), a small Berber 7th century town, from its ruins. The ancient medina, still partially enclosed by ramparts, became the first district of Casablanca. You will find an atmosphere of traditions and a thousand small crafts and trades in the maze of alleys and workshops.

The thirties

The other facet of the town appeared during the first half of the 20th century. Casablanca became the showcase of Art Deco architecture. The outlying districts are connected to and organized around the Place de France and the Place Administrative, now respectively United Nations Place and Mohammed V Place. The Habous area, situated 3km away from the city centre, is unique in Morocco: a new medina entirely designed according to the traditional model. Initially, it was intended for the rural population coming to work in Casablanca. It shows tradition’s capacity to adapt perfectly to the constraints of the modern world.

Business, trade and the Moroccan dolce vita… Everything happens in Casablanca! And its dynamism is infectious.

The energy of modernity

The architectural tradition of the city endures to this day with the inauguration of the Hassan II mosque on the 30th of August 1993. This 200m high mosque is one of the largest in the world. The hectic Mâarif district exemplifies modern Casablanca. This previously impoverished area, just west of the Arab League Park, has gradually been transformed and is now one of the most prominent neighbourhoods in town. The young Moroccan jet set patronise its luxury shops and its trendy establishments in the shadow of the Twin Center twin towers. You must also visit Anfa, Casablanca’s upmarket area. Boulevard Mohammed V, situated in the city centre, has kept its arcades under which shops and restaurants abound for almost 2km.

Seaside

In the evening, you can take the Aïn-Diab coast road between the El Hank lighthouse and Sidi Bou Abderrahmane mausoleum, a small village only accessible at low tide. This coast is Casablanca’s seaside resort. It has swimming pools, public and private beaches. Coming here to admire the sun setting and to refresh oneself on a terrace is a classic outing. Every weekend, the inhabitants of Casablanca love to meet each other here. Later in the evening the discotheques keep things lively in this city which never sleeps.

To remember

Casablanca personifies modern Morocco living in harmony with the rich heritage it has acquired over the centuries.

Welcome to Riad Fes Dar Anebar.

Once past the gate of Bab Guissa, we enter the old city of Fez and its medina where stands the Hotel Palais Jamai. Once past the building begins to deploy a web of narrow streets where a great sense of direction is required. It soon reaches a dead end street with peeling walls and we say that all the way to be redone but a wooden door opens onto a narrow corridor after which an inscription adorns the wall “Riad Dar Anebar.” You then enter the house of the family history of responsible Guessous, before you open a large patio bordered by four facades of two floors, the street noise was totally dimmed and you feel has evidence a riad charged with a long history around you. This begins with the life of a family that is facing a great story. .

Riad Dar Anebar in Fez offers 4 suites, bed and breakfast and 3 lounges, each of a different color, yellow, blue and green overlooking a patio with a fountain and a bertale. A panoramic terrace overlooks the whole medina of Fez.

Suites and rooms of our guest house are all equipped with bathroom, TV, mini bar and air conditioner (hot and cold).
