Toubkal Trekking Ce fameux sommet qui est Toubkal est reconnu seulement en 1922 comme le plus haut sommet de l’Afrique du Nord et de tout l’Atlas Marocain.

L’activité alpine commence à se développer dans le Massif du Toubkal, juste après la première guerre mondiale, en 1922 un petit groupe d'alpinistes français créa la section du Haut Atlas Marocain du Club Alpin Français. C’est donc en 1923 que ce sommet a été gravi par les trois alpinistes Français : le Marquis de Segonzac, Vincent Berger et Hubert Dobeau. C’est en 1938, que le Club Alpin Français

Section de Casablanca a décidé de construire un refuge appelé Neltner, qui porte le nom de MR LOUIS NELTNER, l’un des meilleurs géologues et alpiniste de l’époque, pour bien sur disposer d’une base fixe au pied du versant nord du Toubkal. En 1997 l'architecte Claude Verdugo proposa son projet de restructuration du refuge, fini le 22/11/1999, qui porte un nouveau nom : refuge du Toubkal (3207m), fut ouvert au public avec ses 86 lits touristes, 20 lits muletiers, très confortable, moderne, a l’écoute de tout vos besoins. Our deepest condolences to the families of the two Scandinavian girls. We really feel sorry about this. This has never ever happened in the area. Our Imlil valley & Mt Toubkal are very safe places to hike.

After such a terrible incident that happened in the area, the Trekking is open to Mt Toubkal now. Many tourists have climbed Mt Toubkal in the last two days.

Toubkal or Tubkal (Berber: ⵜⵓⴳⴳ ⴽⴰⵍ Tugg kal; Arabic: توبقال‎ Tūbqāl) is a mountain peak in southwestern Morocco, located in the Toubkal National Park. At 4,167 metres (13,671 ft), it is the highest peak in the Atlas Mountains, Morocco, North Africa and the Arab World. Located 63 km south of the city of Marrakesh, it is an ultra prominent peak, the highest for over 2000 km and a popular destination for climbers.
