It’s been awhile since I’ve been on social media really at all, though I’ve never felt like social media was an over used problem for me, I know it for a lot of people. I felt I didn’t want to be a part of getting lost in this virtual world. But what I’ve found has been quite the opposite in my absence. I actually have felt more disconnected from the the many people across mostly North America that I’ve connected with over the years, as if I’ve not been a part of this online web of interconnectivity and have lost touch. What an interesting and unexpected state of mind to find from the ever present and often spiral of social media. Hmmm. Has anyone else experienced this?

We spent over a week in Virginia while heading north on our road trip, and this state has so much to offer. On top of this beautiful, long hike we got a day of climbing in, slept next to a gorgeous mountain lake, beach day, a weekend with family and a couple days with friends in a cool city. This road trip has been a bit interrupted by handling changes in our businesses and wedding planning, but we make a good team and can’t complain about dealing with these things while traveling to beautiful places. Onward, up the east coast. 🤸‍♂️

The last few days exploring the capitol for both of our first time. DC is such a neat and diverse city full of history, kind people and exquisite art. We are still finding our vanderlust groove while in cities as we are so used to exploring forests and mountains. We look forward to another trip here as there is so much to see and to learn. Oh, and it just so happens we unintentionally landed here on the 4th of July to see the most beautiful firework display in the country. 💙

A much needed date night and rare sighting of me in a dress shirt! We get out of alignment sometimes, it’s part of life and all relationships… the fundamental aspect to our growth is feeling completely through what comes up in the contrasting more difficult times… or we run away from it. For life Ash, though I may falter sometimes, I’m your foundation, choosing to grow with you. ❤️
