So you and your penpal have been writing to each other for a long time, maybe skyped a few times and are now ready to meet face to face ?
If you are inviting your penpal to visit you here are some helpful hints:
When hosting overseas guests at your house;
🤗Always have a room/s ready and clean and equipped with clean towels (enough for their duration of stay( body towel and hair towel)
🤗make sure they have closet space....they wouldn't want to live out of a suitcase
🤗provide a small tv with a dvd player so they can watch tv in their room if they cant watch and understand your local programs...download series and movies even from their country and put it on a dvd or usb for them. English programs are an option too.
🤗provide a small welcome snack or gift on bed...maybe a small amount of Your local currency for them to spend( inside a special card)
🤗provide reading material in the library/ or study or their room in various languages if possible. And boardgames and puzzles
🤗 find out about food allergies and possible food preferencas beforehand
🤗provide breakfast, lunch and Dinner if they are not planning on doing any of these at restaurants during their stay
🤗treat them to a meal at an affordable restaurant on their first night
🤗provide coffee and tea time snacks: local or homemade biscuits/cookies, sandwiches and drinks
🤗ask them if they have favorite cereals, spreads, drinks and so on for you to buy before they arrive
🤗take them sight seeing around your town (if it has anything to offer) or show them your local mall.
🤗help them with contact info for uber, shuttles, busses, taxis or trains.
🤗offer to do their washing or if they prefer to do it themselves show them how your washing machine works. Or direct them to a local laundromat
If you are the one visiting your penpal:
For your host/s...
