Guess what? We managed to snap a clear pic of one of these buzzing beauties right here in the rainforest! 🌳✨

Did you know?
🐛 Most Australian cicadas spend 6-7 years underground and only live for a few weeks after emerging. Talk about a short but sweet life!
🎤 They make their iconic sounds by rapidly buckling their timbal ribs (fancy, right?) and amplifying it with an air sac. Some even sing in chorus to confuse predators—nature’s very own rock band!
🌱 After mating, the females use their ovipositors to lay eggs in tree branches. The eggs hatch, and the baby cicadas (nymphs) fall to the ground, burrow into the soil, and start their underground journey.

These two trees are exactly that - wise old souls standing here since long before we can imagine. With roots as strong and sprawling as its branches, these trees have weathered countless seasons and generations. 🌳✨

🎨 Yabby - Nature’s Rainbow Crayfish! 🎨 'Yabby,' Australia's super colourful Lamington Crayfish, usually rocking a bright blue shell, but sometimes showing off in red, white, and many other cool colours like orange and green. This freshwater crustacean knows how to stand out! You might catch one strutting around the forest floor after a good rain, on a mission to find food, new digs, or maybe even a crayfish date. Just imagine the crayfish singles scene—it’s all about territory and snacks! 😅🦞💧
