It Came From Sunset Blvd
Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker, Jack Bruce aka Cream at the Whisky A Go Go Recorded live at Whisky A Go Go, Los Angeles, CA, US 4th Sep 1967.
Originally a commercial building housing real estate and banking concerns, the iconic club was conceived by former Chicago cop Elmer Valentine in 1964 after a visit to Paris’s Whisky à Gogo discotheque. Valentine appropriated the name, and with his partners created a 500-person space with tufted red Naugahyde elevated booths near the entrance, a female DJ suspended above the dance floor in a glass-walled booth, and the first go-go dancers—women outfitted in fringed miniskirts and white boots, also suspended in cages.
