A graduate of the De La Salle University in 1976 with degrees in AB Economics and BS Business Administration, Mr. Romeo Ong, is the founder and owner of Sunnywood that introduced rice to Filipinos in the supermarkets thru the launch of several varieties of white rice and started with a flagship band Harvester.

For someone who comes from hospitality, we scrutinize our rice from texture, taste and scent. Being a Kapampangan who was raised in Bulacan, I know my rice very well by category but I am surprised on how brands would now be involved in making my tastiest rice available now that I live independently in the city.
I am very fortunate to ask personally the family members behind the brand and surprised to meet the patriarch, Mr. Ong. I dared to ask, "So what makes your rice so groundbreaking?"
