This was a very emotional place to visit. The compound has pictures of famous Pan Africanists and pictures of the transiting of slaves though the region, slave auctions etc.

On the sundeck of Amawaterways' Ama Verde river cruise.

As the Captain skilfully steers us through, you’ll see the huge sculpture of a Romanian hero – Decebalus – carved into the rock. Created in the 1990s, at over 130 feet high it is the largest rock relief in Europe – it even dwarfs the US presidents at Mount Rushmore. Decebalus was the last king of Dacia, the kingdom stretching from the Carpathians to the Black Sea. A warrior through and through, he fought the Roman Empire in three campaigns before Emperor Trajan got the better of him. Decebalus fled into the Carpathians, taking his own life rather than being captured.

Delicious food on the Virgin Scarlet Lady cruise in the Caribbean. The food on the ship in the numerous restaurants were consistently superb. If you’re a foodie, you should check it out!

The ruins of ancient Ephesus is a magnificent collection of ruins demonstrating the lives of the ancient city in the Mediterranean era.🏛

From the magnificent theater, to the ancient roads, the library, and elaborate living quarters, there is a lot to be learned from the lives of the people who lived there. So much of the history is still preserved.

Fun Fact: Nearby on a hill by the ruins is the shrine to the Virgin Mary where she lived with the Apostle John until she died

Belgrade is a vibrant ancient city with lots of cafes and beautiful shops.We visited on a 7 night river cruise from Budapest to Bucharest, Romania.🛳

Fun fact: The museum was established on 10 May 1844 and has been at its current location from 1950! Its main facade is on the Republic Square.
