It’s been a long day. You come home and find something unexpected- a golden ray of hope shining through the drab gray fog of everyday life. A piece of mail that isn’t a bill! A piece of mail that doesn’t tell you how much you still owe on your car, home or student loans! A piece of mail that doesn’t make you want to leave it in the mailbox because you couldn’t care less about it! Now, imagine that
you’ve given this golden ray of hope to your best friend who just moved across the country and hasn’t found many friends yet. To your cousin in Michigan who you’ve noticed has been posting some less-than-uplifting statuses on Facebook. To your old college roommate who you haven’t talked to in a while, but who you want to keep in touch with (at least a little bit). That’s why we started Mail by Snail: to make it easy and quick for you to send a little piece of positivity to someone you love. We know it’s something you thought about before but just never had the time to do. Maybe you bought the card and even addressed it but realized you didn’t have any stamps. Maybe you put a stamp on it but just kept forgetting to stop by a post office to send it. We’ve been there before (sorry to all of our relatives who we should have sent thank you notes to). We (two post-grad twenty-somethings) started with an idea, a lack of anything relating to business experience, and a lot of Googling. All of the Snails you send will come from the heart of the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia (a beautiful place, rich with actual snails, mostly on sidewalks after it rains). When you’re looking through possible Snails to send, I would like you to picture the two of us sitting on a couch looking at what we’ve created, and saying, “It’s so cute. Look at it, it’s so cute. This is fun.” We say this so you know that we love these products as much as we hope you do. We will legitimately be sending them to our friends, too (except fo’ free- perks of running the business).
