As a social enterprise, Gotoco has arranged for over 2,000 UK, North American and EU based students to visit China on our fun, funded and free work-travel and cultural exchange projects. Gotoco is an award-winning, highly rated, certified social enterprise. We are rated highly by the 1,000s of participants that have taken part in programmes with us. We are award winning, for our work we have been shortlisted for various awards. For our efforts in building a community of young China watchers and offering support to educational institutions across China, we are finalists in the China Social Impact Awards, an award organised by the British Chamber of Commerce in China in partnership with the United Nations. For our TEFL and China education initiatives, we are bronze award winners for Best Educational Product with the British Youth Travel Awards. While for our provision of summer internships in China we were granted Gold Star Host status by the University of Oxford, and we've been voted most fun in the Teach Abroad category in the Go Overseas Community Choice Awards!

Here at Gotoco we are focused on improving cultural understanding between China and the rest of the world.

The Gotoco team aims to help as many university students as possible go to China, as affordably as possible, thats why we charge no fees and part-fund most of the programme costs.

At Gotoco we believe in providing university students with the opportunity to explore China affordably and see the country with the world’s largest population for themselves.

We are not an anonymous corporate travel agent, we are a social enterprise, led by three best friends that first travelled together in China ten years ago and have lived and worked together since. We want to encourage more people from the 'West' to explore China, like we did, to break the corporate mould and find much better and more interesting life and career opportunities.

Everyone on the Gotoco team believes there are not enough opportunities to learn about China in the West. That is where Gotoco comes in. We introduce university students from all over the world to China and Chinese culture in a fun, dynamic environment.

There’s no better way to learn about a country than going there, hanging out with locals and trying out everything on offer. Through our summer programmes, we aim to make China accessible to university students and provide a unique opportunity to lose yourself in Chinese culture. By interacting with the local programme participants, working with the local manager and discovering everything the location has to offer, our interns have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience Chinese culture first-hand.

We aim to build a community of young people interested in China and exploring the world. We give the next generation an understanding of China, bringing diverse cultures closer together to help make the world better.
