Unless you were one of the people in this photo you probably won't know or have met Sue Hodges (nee Giordano). I received the sad news today that Sue has this week lost her battle with cancer. Sue and I met in 1991 when she was on one of my treks and our friendship has spanned nearly 30 years ever since, with a few year hiatus when we lost touch - both of us moving to new countries but the power of FB bought us together again. I am deeply saddened by the news of Sue's passing but reflect on that trek, many years ago, that spawned a love of the Spanish horse for Sue and our friendship, for which I am blessed. RIP

Descending Las Carriguelas gorge en route to Pitres (Tuesday ride). I once had an altimeter and measured it at 180m deep. Caroline is leading the group (Sept 1988) with Mistral, followed by Gitana and Contessa (sorry I don't remember the riders names as it wasn't my group and I was just a stand-in for Anneka Rice during the filming of 'Wish You Were Here'.
