Good Afternoon,

This is your Mayor Doug Medlin with an important announcement regarding Tropical Storm Isaias. The Weather Service has predicted strong tropical storm impacts beginning this evening and potential for hurricane force winds through the night. We urge all residents to secure loose items such as outdoor furniture, construction materials and trash containers. The trash schedule for Tuesday will be postponed till Wednesday, which means the north end of the island and mainland will be picked up Wednesday.
Town staff has activated the Emergency Operations Center and is coordinating preparation and response. The Town has issued a state of emergency to allow for additional protective measures. The following restrictions are in place beginning Monday, August 3rd:
• A curfew is enacted for the island portion of Surf City from 8pm, Monday, August 3rd until 7am, August 4th.
• No curfew for the mainland portion of Surf City.
• Residents are restricted within the boundaries of their property lines during curfew hours.
• Anyone outside of their property boundaries may be subject to criminal prosecution
• All public accesses, public bathrooms, and public parks will close at dusk, Monday, August 3rd and will remain closed until further notice.
• Anyone who enters any beach area, is entering at their own risk due to potential storm debris.

I urge everyone to be vigilant throughout the night and tomorrow morning as inland flooding, potential storm surge, down trees and power lines from high winds are expected.

Dear Guests,

Please be aware that we are likely to experience Tropical Storm force winds starting late Monday night into the early morning on Tuesday. On Monday afternoon, please take a look around your rental and bring in or secure any loose items that you feel could become airborne during the storm. If you are in a home with outdoor trash cans, put them in the enclosed outside shower (when possible). We have runners available if you need any help with storm preparation. Please call us Monday morning if you feel you will need help securing loose items 910.327.4444. The two high rise bridges that connect Topsail to the mainland may be closed temporarily if sustained winds reach 45 miles per hour.

Isaias is not likely to cause significant problems on Topsail, but please stay up to date by listening to local news. We will also be sharing updates specific to your stay on our storm page.

Dorian was very kind to Topsail. He actually left more sand than he took. No turtle nests damaged. No beach access destroyed. Amazing! Thankful!

For the past week the world watched Hurricane Dorian do her devastating dance with the Bahamas before flirting ferociously with Florida, then brushing uncomfortably up against our Topsail Island and attempting to take some of our northern Carolina coastal treasures. Fortunately, Dorian is gone and m...

We just sent this very happy email to guests coming tomorrow:

A Message from Treasure Realty

To our guests scheduled to arrive this weekend of September 7th,

We wanted to provide this positive brief update with more information to follow through the day. As Hurricane Dorian has moved on past Topsail Island, the reports are that the island fared very well! The State Governor and the three towns have lifted the mandatory evacuation for residents and guests!

We are now inspecting and cleaning all our properties and we are very optimistic that your reserved property will be ready for you to check in tomorrow! If we find any issues with your property, we will be in contact with you immediately. If your property has a door code, we will be sending that code to you today by email.

Please note that our office in Sneads Ferry is open today and our other office in Surf City will be open tomorrow. You can call us with any questions at 800-762-3961.

We are truly sorry for all the uncertainty that Dorian has caused for your vacation, and we are optimistic that we will be ready for your arrival tomorrow. We will also continue to communicate frequently on our storm page as well as by email.

Thank you so much for your prayers and patience as we work through the aftermath of Dorian. Please keep informed by visiting our storm page frequently: [You are on the storm page ;)]

North Topsail Beach, Surf City, and Topsail beach were great and let our prep teams stay on Topsail all day since 8 AM. They are nearly finished with their prep work. We just sent out emails to next weeks guests and we are about to send a new email to our owners. Due to the storm, our office will be closed Thursday and will reopen when the weather permits. As soon as the mandatory evacuation has been removed, we will get back on the Island to look at our properties. The worst of Dorian is forcast to affect topsail from tomorrow night into Friday morning. Thank you for your prayers and support as we hunker down.
