Wow!! 3400 miles is all behind this 2024 group of amazing cyclists. After so much good weather was enjoyed, and new good friends were made, the ending today at Revere Beach was bitter sweet.

Again this year, morning SAG was hosted by the DeKalb County Historical Society in Maysville, MO. This tradition, beginnning in the late 90’s is a highlight of the tour. Maysville is located 30 miles outside St. Joseph on the route to Chillicothe. Tour is more than half over now. After many days of rain in the Maysville area, today the sun came out. Here we are in Emporia, KS, for our 3rd rest day. Tomorrow, rest, and then on to Topeka for the next section of the tour. Time is flying by as this extraordinary group of riders cycle mile after mile together, always in good spirits. It’s hard to believe we’re almost half way to Boston!

Tonight - one of our favorite hotels, the Historic Plaza Hotel in Las Vegas, NM. The sheriff’s office from the series Longmire is just across the street. There’s a wonderful old bar off the lobby and a very good restaurant, the Prairie City Cafe.

2024 Ride day #3! Hwy 10 between Indio and Blythe is closed to bike traffic due to construction. What an opportunity-we’re riding south to see the Salton Sea- a Crossroads first. Look for pics tomorrow!

Day 1 was cool and amazing as the riders dipped a wheel and headed for Boston. On day 2 the first night in Moreno Valley, the tour headed for Indio past the windmill farms outside of Palm Springs.

And just like that, the 2023 cross country tour is over. Great riders!!!

Amazing memories and new friendships were formed over 3400 miles on the road together. We ( Dana, Paula, Tom, Alena, Peyton, Greg, and Fred) will hold onto each memory and retell the many, many wild and crazy stories for a very long time.

A big thank you to each of the 22 riders who were part of this (very) fun tour!! Remember, you did it!!!! Congratulations! 🎉 🦞🎤🐴
