Big up and THANK YOU to Alicia Byrne and Loralie Coles-Broderick for your generous donations and networking this week for saving my thatch cottage. Reminder to those wanting to come over, a donation of 200 gives a tour and a donation of 500 includes a stay and tour!
Also working with a group of thatch cottage owners to address the antiquated and out of touch rules and insurance on thatch's. A country that says they want to protect the iconic buildings yet don't address the disconnect with the reality is to be brought to a higher level of "attention!". Could you imagine paying 4000 euro (approx $6000 Canadian) just for insurance on your home?

Thank you to MD and JL who have donated to saving Aisling cottage's thatch hair-doo. Such an iconic building in the landscape. Every penny is energy, and energy is love... sending heaps of love to all. Folks who have spent time here have all mentioned how healing the space is... truly a special place

Published bit a couple errors... mom's family is from Galway and I missed out on a grant in January. Here it is though! Huge international readership!

Thea Trussler says it is her "dream" to finish restoring the traditional thatched cottage in her mother's ancestral homeland in Co Cork. Trussler has launched a GoFundMe to help complete the restoration.

Doing a poll on a GoFundMe idea. My gorgeous thatch cottage desperately needs re-thatching. As I have created a BnB experience here with the cottage and caravan, I want to keep my traditional thatch and not succumb to slate roofing.
A GoFundMe would have people invest in the true heritage of Ireland homes and a way of life that is sadly disappearing. Grants are only 1/6th of what I need.
Folks who invest would receive gifts, or stays/retreats depending on their investment.
What are your thoughts?

Exciting news!! The ancestral retreat Oct 28th to Nov 5th is a go! It will be hosted on my family's ancestral lands in Galway at Castle Hackett House. This is situated beside Knockma fairy forest where neolithic and megalithic sites are accessible along a beautiful mountain walk and where King Finvarra of the Connaght faerie tribes was laid to rest.
