Elite Recycling for the Disabled is the name of their business and the name speaks for itself. Their long term vision is to put thousands of recycling containers, for aluminum cans and plastic bottles, out for the convenience of the public on commercial private properties. Putting out these containers will create jobs such as: assembly, processing, accounting and proposals to help Elite Recycling

for the Disabled expand. As the business grows, the number of employees will grow with it. Elite Recycling for the Disabled story gets better as we dive into their community outreach program. They want to contribute a percentage of their earning to the community, such as: food banks, homeless shelters and other charitable foundations. In this outreach it will help fill the cracks that are in our society and give these people incentive and motivation to better their lives. If two hardships couldn’t sound any harder, listen to their stories. Tony Silva owned a roofing business called Van Roofing based in La Habra. When he was 52 years old, Tony was working on a 2 story building and used a ladder that wasn’t set up properly and fell two stories to the concrete ground. This accident resulted in a spinal cord injury that led to him becoming paralyzed and restricted to a wheelchair. Anthony Ramsey was an apprentice for the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union just getting started on his chosen career. When he was 20 years old he was on a family vacation in Glamis, Ca. Anthony was in a near fatal accident when he was run over by a off road vehicle. He was left permanently and totally blind from his injuries. Life has dealt these two gentlemen an unfortunate hand, but they are determined and playing to win. Recycling is a huge industry and Tony Silva thought this would be a great chance to employ himself and the disabled. Over the years, Tony realized disabled people are a minority and have limited options for employment. It is very rare to see the disabled employed in local businesses. After much research, the idea of starting his own recycling business then began to take action. Anthony Ramsey’s determination to be in the working class again along with his education in business made him a perfect choice as a business partner. Anthony graduated from the BEP with a certificate in business management which is a federal program for the visualy impaired. Tony asked him to partner up with him and to take charge together at this business venture. These two gentlemen met as neighbors in the city of Brea and developed a support system between the two of them. They have now evolved into business partners and are inseparable doing what they can on a daily basis to get this business started. They do everything from research and development, manufactured their own prototypes, designing of the logo and artistic design, networking, conducting price quotes, costing, and proposals. They travel by bus and foot independently to achieve their daily tasks of developing their business. Tony and Anthony have several goals developing this recycling business. Creating a much needed income for themselves and jobs for the economy, giving other disabled people the chance of gaining employment and giving back to organizations and foundations who support the disabled and the needy.
