began as an idea to find a creative space for all of my different passions and then materialized into a powerful initiative for South Asian entrepreneurs. When Trisha Sakhuja-Walia and I started exploring the idea, I don’t think we could have foreseen the impact of this summit, but great things happen when the right energies align. After months of planning with the amazing Brown Girl Magazine team, I am super proud to be apart of the movement. I want to thank all of our sponsors for having faith in our vision and giving us the freedom & resources to see it through and I want to genuinely thank each and everyone one of you for coming out to support Slashie Summit! You made it unforgettable! 🙌🏽

It’s been a few days since Brown Girl Magazine's first-ever and we're still out of words and in awe of the positive, creative vibes in the room.

From the brand sponsors, to the amazing pop-up vendors, food and beverage sponsors, panelists, moderators and workshop facilitators, and swag bag partners, everyone made it their mission to make the summit a part of their life the past few months. You all took a chance on ’s vision to make this summit a reality, and so many of you went the extra mile to fly into the city and/or ship us hundreds of products. We truly appreciate you all!

What started off as a simple idea between Dallas Intuitive and Brown Girl Mag has manifested into something bigger than we could have ever imagined. But it’s much thanks to the slashie crew for making the idea a reality — Trisha Sakhuja-Walia, Jennifer Kadenkavil, Sara George, Jashima Wadehra, Divya Jethwani, Hima Barot, Sejal J Patel, Natasha Lalwani.

A few special shoutouts to Lakshmi Sarkar for selflessly painting the most beautiful mural, Tanmit from Rootsgear for driving to the city the night before slashie to hand deliver the much-awaited ‘ladki power’ shirts in collaboration with By Badal, Esskayji for flying into town without any hesitation to give our morning keynote, Babbuthepainter for hosting a denim painting workshop in such short notice, Suki Padda and Jaz Dhami for ending our summit on such a positive note, Melanie Chandra and Surina Jindal for being the cutest keynote duo ever, Sharad Bhavnani + Arun Djjuicy Datta for treating us like family and hosting an epic pre-slashie dinner in collab w/ Bira 91 US, and the biggest shoutout ever to Priya Shah from GIPHY for opening up her place of work for the .
