Gr bottle

Gr bottle Designing a foam roller for travel, in and out of competition. Traveling to a competition is no longer an excuse. Compete as you and stay healthy.

The GR bottle is a foam roller/ water bottle. The bottle will use BPA free plastic for the lids and caps. The middle tube will either be clear BPA free plastic or stainless steel. This choice will be made based on cost and your feedback. Because of the design individual pieces can be switched out, so in the future you can get a plastic or metal tube and replace which ever material is chosen for th

e first run of production. GR stands for Gear Roller. This bottle is a modular design where everything fits together to work as one piece. The Roller is EVA foam around a thick ABS center. The roller will never deform or break. This guarantee applies to the bottle tube as well. Because of the alternating layers of materials the GR bottle will keep your drink cold, longer. Just like every other piece the strap is easily replaceable. No matter the age or wear if a single piece gets faded or damage you can easily switch it out. The first run production of the roller will have softer ridges and a thin and more aggressive center. The roller will be harder than most on the market so take your time rolling. This design is meant for a hold and stretch approach to massage. Use the roller in small increments and when you find a spot stop and let gravity do the work. when a small amount of pressure releases flex and extend the relative joint. This will release any tacky fascia and scar tissue build up in the area supplying more range of motion

Kickstarter Update

Sorry for a delay in updates but I had a race yesterday and by the time I was back around a computer it was already late in the day. I want to thank everyone for sharing the page. A lot of people have seen the Kickstarter but progress has remained quite slow. Because of this I want to clear up how Kickstarter works because I realized that I did not explain it at the beginning of the project. Talking to people I get the sense that everyone is ready to buy a bottle upfront but are a bit hesitant when it comes to backing a project on Kickstarter. When you pledge money on Kickstarter you are only promising that you will pay that amount if the project reaches its goal. This means that you do not spend or lose any money if the project doesn’t make it to the finish. This means that even the smallest pledge matters. Someone does not have to purchase a bottle to make a difference. If you personally like the product and want to see it come to market the pledge of $5 -$15 dollars is just as valuable. I continue to ask that you share us throughout your social media and if your friends don’t have the money to purchase a GR Bottle they can continue to help out by pledging for a sticker, t-shirt , or hat.

Have a good week and thank you again,

Austin

A quick update. We are on to day 3 of the campaign. The first day was awesome but we slowed down on the 2nd day. I want to give a big thank you again to everyone who has backed us. Today and the next few days we will be handing out information and taking the prototype by local gyms in the Colleyville area. If you are a part of a gym that may want to take a few pamphlets or allow a small booth to be set up so that you can ask a few questions and look at the prototype? Send me a message via Facebook and we will make it to your gym or business. I am currently out of state at my Team Trials but my Brother and another person are in Texas with the prototype. The prototype is adjustable, if there are certain improvements you would like to see then let them know and we will adjust the manufactured piece accordingly.

I am currently working on broadening the projects reach and getting a press release put together. I will keep all the pages updated at the completion of each of these steps.

Keep well,
Austin

Day 2 of 30 has started. A Big shout out for everyone who has backed us so far. Thank you for getting us started. We have a long way to go and I am sure we will find a way to make it to the end. Because I am not allowed to post any renders to Kickstarter I will post them here. Anyone curious about the color choices can get a better view of them from these pictures. I may try and post them on Kickstarter but I will keep you updated in case they take them down.

! We are going Live !
So guys here we are. I can finally announce that as of this very moment the GR Bottle Kickstarter page is live.
A lot of work has gone into the Kickstarter page. I can say that it pushed me to learn a few skills I did not have a few months ago. As of right now the Kickstarter is up and running. If you or your friends have any questions? You can leave a message on the GR Bottle Kickstarter, Facebook, and Twitter page. There may be some people who are still curious what exactly the GR Bottle is. The Kickstarter and it’s video are designed to help clear up these questions. A lot of information that has not been released on the website and Facebook are located on the page. Take your time and look over the Kickstarter. If you believe that the GR Bottle could help yourself, a friend, or a family member then please feel free to join our team. Getting the word out is Just as important as backing the project. If you are unable to back us then please share us via social media or with you friends at the gym or school. Getting our product to an audience outside our current reach is one of the most important aspects of the GR Bottle project.
Take note that I had a bunch of Color renders on the Kickstarter page to show a 3d model of both of the color options. I had to remove these because Kickstarter has a no render policy. So to make up for this I will be releasing the Color renders on Facebook. Remember to vote for your favorite color. This color combo will only be used for the first batch of bottles produced. We want people to recognize that you were with our team from the beginning. That you were one of the people who helped make GR Bottle happen.
We are live for 30 days. Backing usually peaks in the first few days and waivers until the last few. We ask that you be our voice and continue to share our Kickstarter page throughout the campaign. The GR Bottle is now as much ours as it is yours and it is up to us to reach our funding goal. Keep in mind that we now have a twitter @ GR_Bottle. If you want to give us a quick tweet we can reach a lot of people in a short amount of time.
I am currently at the Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid competing in my team trials. Because of this I will respond to any questions in the morning and at night. There are also a great group of people back in Texas who will get back to you if I am ever unavailable.
Get your mouse ready and prepare to like and share, because as of right now, WE are Live!

So there was an error with the page. I used a color render to show what the bottle would look like in full color. I did not know that Kickstarter does not allow renders with lighting and shading. They do permit transparent and wire frame images. I will load all the images I have to remove or replace to the page. The good news is this is the only error with the page. I will fix it today and resubmit the project. I will update you when I hear back from them in the next few days.

UPDATE! First of all let me apologize for the long delay in information. It has taken a lot of work getting everything ready for launch. As of right now the GR Bottle Kickstarter page has been submitted. It will take about 3 days for the project to be inspected and cleared by Kickstarter. Once it gets approved the page will be ready for launch. Thank you Kathryn for both the captions and edits. I have also worked very hard on getting the page design to a level I was very happy with. When it goes live I will post the link here to Facebook. There are features to the GR Bottle that I have not shared yet over Facebook and the web page. I put a ton of work into the design to make sure it was correct. One of the focuses was finalizing the GR Bottle to lock rollers in place and switch them out for other GR Rolling systems released at later dates. If you are at all unsure about what the bottle offers, I ask that you visit our Kickstarter page. I feel confident enough in the product and the page that you will want to share the link after visiting. The GR Bottle was made to make life just a little bit easier for serious athletes. I worked hard to make this product something people would love and I hope you feel the same way about it that I do.

Remember that this means the Project will be up and live in the next few days. If you still want to win a few prizes without having to spend any money you can visit GRBottle.com and sign up. If you want to take a shot at winning prizes you can share the web link as well as a link to our page . Like I mentioned before I ask that you visit the Kickstarter before you share any of the information. If you enjoy the product then please share it with 10 of your friends and ask them to do the same. Heck, if everyone has 5-10 of their friends share the Kickstarter link with 5-10 of their friends, then we will be able to reach an audience currently unavailable to us. Shoot, if there are supposedly 6 degrees of separation between everyone and Kevin Bacon then maybe we can get Kevin Bacon staying healthy while traveling. I think we can all agree to like this!

Thank you for all the help guys. The next post will discuss when the project is going live. After the announcement there will be 30 days to make the GR Bottle a reality.

I hope to see you all at the finish,

Austin

So everyone knows. The video is uploading. I have to add subtitles and let a few people review it for my spelling mistakes as well as input on any additions or changes to the order. You may see things I have missed. I am looking for a few people to help. If you send me a message I can send a link so you can view the kickstarter page. Let me know any opinions you have.
Looking for 10 or so people.

The struggle with Adobe Premier has been very real. You wont hear anything from me until I submit the Kickstarter page. So you get a break from updates and myself for the next day or 2.

Been traveling a lot. Sorry for the lack of updates on the GR project. As of right now the Kickstarter page has everything done but the video and a good spell check. I am still in contact with manufactures and may be able to get the unit price down some more. Until then we just have to wait and see. I am back at the OTC in NY so I have a good deal of free time between therapy and workouts. This is good news. It means that the early October time table for the KS page is still a go. I will let everyone know if anything comes up. Thank you again to everyone who shared through the website. I realize not everyone is able to connect through facebook. I am working to get a twitter up as well and I hope that makes it easier for more people to connect.

Updating the progress of the GR bottle.
Good news and unexpected costs: A little info about Kickstarter.

It has been a few days and I have been very busy. I have been
making images and illustrations for a very clean kickstarter page. Kickstarter has to ok every project. So it has to look the best I can make it in order to get past that point. I am still pushing to have it open at the beginning of October. It looks like that is still achievable but I will update every day or so just in case something comes up. I want to make sure things like that get explained the moment they happen. I also got things sorted out with 2 manufacturers and got the final cost on mold making and injecting. The good thing is that it was actually cheaper to have stainless steel bottles made instead of plastic. This is awesome because the foam roller actually insulates the tube, so drinks should stay cold for quite some time. Heck you can even leave the center part in the freezer if you want to make it even colder.
Something came to light when I was adding up all the costs to get a project total. All funds earned through Kickstarter are recorded by the tax code as income. I am glad I looked into it because it seems like a common theme for many projects not to account for this. Some of the donations can be written off but it still comes out to a lofty sum. Keep in mind that this expense + approx 10% of the earnings go back to Kickstarter as a fee. Most can understand that taxes and the Kickstarter fees skyrocket a funding goal. I broke each price down and put all that information on the Kickstarter page. When it is live you can see exactly where all the money goes. These are things a lot of projects ignore and is a reason some projects never get delivered to backers. I plan on delivering everything that is promised. Because of this I worked hard to get the numbers right for everyone who plans on helping out.

Short update on the bottle guys.
Well I thank Mr. Kaleb Squires for his patience with the worlds most Camera shy person... 'myself' It was a long difficult day but I may be able to squeeze a Kickstarter video out of the 100s of takes. I need to learn how to edit like a pro in record time. I can say that if I failed on the speaking portion of the video. I made up for by having an awesome shoot location. I call it a kind of horse barn rustic chic.

Today went great again thanks to everybody. Some more people signed up on the website which is great. I realized looking at it now that there is a disconnect between the webpage and the page. So i will update that so people who view the website can also find there way to us here on Facebook. I apologize for this apparent flaw. worry not I shall fix it.

Tomorrow I get to make a Kickstarter video. When it is done I will share it here just to give everyone a preview. If your going to put in the effort to help now then I will do my part to give you guys some information in return.

Also I will post the same updates on this page and my personal page. Austin McCrary. I do not want to leave people out.

Thanks again everyone
