Alif and Ain is the brainchild of a Muslim couple who met on Instagram. Tired of hearing horror stories of people who were searching for their spouses (catfish moments, endless scrolling, awkward marriage events), Aaminah and Omar decided to offer something different to Muslims looking to find the one. They created a service that combines the best of tradition and modernity. In an age where people
are swiping left or right to find the one, or sending thousands of generic 'hey, nice to come across your pic' messages, they realised it was time to change how Muslims meet online, and to make the experience more meaningful, and less superficial. Alif and Ain strives to introduce people through an interesting and innovative process that pays homage to the tradition of real matchmakers (bye-bye algorithms!) However, all modernity is not lost. As Alif and Ain is primarily an online platform, Aaminah and Omar decided to incorporate an innovative video feature, that allows clients to gauge more of their match's personality before they make the decision to swap contact details. Privacy is important and it can get super awkward when you find your boss on a Matrimony site - or worse yet, your sister! Alif and Ain is completely private and anonymous, with no online profiles, meaning your search to find the one stays between you and us, not the world. Your photos and video are never shared without your permission to your match, and your name is only revealed right at the end with your consent. We let your personality do the talking. Nowadays, money is always on people's minds - and rightly so. Finding a spouse (and getting married) has economically escalated. Many marriage websites also take an upfront fee, registration cost as well as a hefty monthly membership. Aaminah and Omar umm'd and ahh'd over the idea of a monthly subscription, but realised this would put matchmakers under pressure to match two people who may intrinsically be incompatible, just to fulfil a monthly quota. It doesn't seem fair - money and finding love shouldn't be paired together. So, instead, they operate on a no upfront fees and a no match, no cost basis meaning that clients only pay right at the end when they're happy with the match that has been suggested for them.
