If you want to know what our future looks like, this is it! These kids are on fire with excitement for the gospel and their futures! They’re not without their struggles, but they have the Lord on their side and that’s enough!!

After a pit stop for lunch we got to the Aaronic Priesthood Restoration site and learned about Jesus Christ’s Priesthood being restored to the earth in our day.
Much of the translation of the Book of Mormon happened at this site. There is a box there in the re-built Isaac Hale home (Emma’s parent’s home) that visitors can lift to get an idea of how heavy the plates would have been: 40-60 pounds.

Then over to skip rocks in the Susquehanna River, the way Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery would have done when they were taking breaks from translating the plates.
This is where Joseph and Oliver baptized each other after receiving the Aaronic Priesthood.

We made it to Palmyra! We visited the Smith family farm, the Sacred Grove and the Grandin publishing house all in the pouring rain.
Some of the kids loved their personal time in the sacred grove with the rain!

More in Kirtland!
We visited Newell K. Whitney’s home and his store, also the saw mill and ashery. Our volunteer missionary tour guide was wonderful!
See those floor planks? Those are the same ones that were put in when the store was built in the 1800’s! That’s remarkable!

Kirtland Ohio is a wonderful stop! We loved visiting the Joseph and Emma Smith home then walking to the beautiful Kirtland temple where we were able to sing “The Spirit of God” and feel the spirit! ❤️❤️

We visited the John and Elsa Johnson farm. Many revelations were received in this sacred place, including the three degrees of glory.

Much of this home is in its original form from the 1800’s. Including the door latch photographed. Think of the spiritual hero’s you have that may have touched that door latch 🙂

Just a few shenanigans!

During our trip we do room checks when we’re checking out of a hotel and we “grade” each room. The group that has the most points (I.e. the cleanest room) gets candy!
They can also get extra credit points for doing special stuff, like towel origami for example 🐘🧸

What happens when you leave something in hour room?? You get to sing!! 😂🎤

I don’t even have the group temple pic 🤦🏽‍♀️ it’s on someone else’s phone.
But here are some Nauvoo photos!

Carthage jail is a very sober and humbling stop. The kids expressed love and gratitude for Joseph and Hyrum Smith for their sacrifice for the truth.
Carthage is one of the sites with an original 1800’s building still standing on it. Original floors, window frames, fireplace and more. It’s pretty neat to walk on a floor that Joseph Smith walked on.
After the tour, the youth spontaneously circled up and started sharing thoughts and testimonies with each other.

Then back to the hotel for swimming, and games in the lobby :)

Devotionals are the bread and butter of this trip! We love the testimonies that the youth share and learn from eachother.
Every morning and evening one team is in charge of leading the devotional (song, prayer, scripture, spiritual thought).
This photo is the 4 girls in two seats doing their morning devotional in the bus 😂
And the other photo is our wonderful host, Brother Bowman, sharing a chair with an unsuspecting teen 😂😂

We had a great tour in the Community of Christ Temple, then a brief discussion on the temple lot across the street, then to the Church of Jesus Christ visitors center.

We stopped at the Far West Country store earlier today and I didn’t take any pictures but the owners shared how they noticed a spirit about our group, and I agree… these kids are amazing!

We love Adam-Ondi-Ahman! ❤️
I know the photo of all those kids far away doesn’t look like anything special, but let me tell you about it!
The acoustics are miraculous in that valley, so as we were standing that far away from each other, we could talk to each other in regular volumes (even in hushed tones) and could hear eachother perfectly. It’s really incredible!

It’s amazing standing in a location where Jesus Christ has also stood ❤️
