After a pit stop for lunch we got to the Aaronic Priesthood Restoration site and learned about Jesus Christ’s Priesthood being restored to the earth in our day.
Much of the translation of the Book of Mormon happened at this site. There is a box there in the re-built Isaac Hale home (Emma’s parent’s home) that visitors can lift to get an idea of how heavy the plates would have been: 40-60 pounds.

Then over to skip rocks in the Susquehanna River, the way Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery would have done when they were taking breaks from translating the plates.
This is where Joseph and Oliver baptized each other after receiving the Aaronic Priesthood.

Sacred Grove in the rain is kindof magical!

We made it to Palmyra! We visited the Smith family farm, the Sacred Grove and the Grandin publishing house all in the pouring rain.
Some of the kids loved their personal time in the sacred grove with the rain!

We visited Newell K. Whitney’s home and his store, also the saw mill and ashery. Our volunteer missionary tour guide was wonderful!
See those floor planks? Those are the same ones that were put in when the store was built in the 1800’s! That’s remarkable!

Kirtland Ohio is a wonderful stop! We loved visiting the Joseph and Emma Smith home then walking to the beautiful Kirtland temple where we were able to sing “The Spirit of God” and feel the spirit! ❤️❤️
