Day 10: From Stone Forest to Sand Seas 🏜️🐘

We kicked off the day riding from Adaik to the iconic Elephant Rock formation in Tokobaouin. 🐘

The journey continued through the rugged Essendilene Valley, where tricky fešfeš (soft, powdery sand) made the ride challenging. 💨

After a hike to a hidden guelta (natural water pool) in a canyon, we wrapped up the day crossing the vast dunes of Erg Admer—an endless sea of sand. 🌊🏍️

Day 9: City Vibes & Desert Thrills 🏜️🌍

We spent the morning exploring Djanet—taking in scenic views, visiting the local market, and enjoying lunch at a local restaurant. 🍽️🛍️

Back on the bikes, we rode through towering dunes, saw the ancient “Crying Cow” rock engraving, and crossed the vast Erg Admer, stretching all the way to Niger. 🌄 The dunes were epic—fun to climb, but challenging and risky.

We wrapped up the day camping in the unique "Stone Forest" of Adaik. 🏕️

Day 8: Back to Djanet 🏍️🌍

After 200 km of riding through vast plains and rocky tracks, we made our way back from Tadrart to Djanet. The open landscapes were a final reminder of the raw beauty of the desert. 🏜️

We wrapped up the day with a well-deserved dinner at the hotel, sharing stories and reflecting on an unforgettable adventure. 🍽️✨

Day 7: Challenges & Endless Dunes 🏍️🏜️

Another intense day on the road! One of our bikes took a hit while climbing rocks, cracking the stator cover—but a quick fix and we were back on track. 💪🔧

We passed the stunning Cathedral (double arch) and rode through vast dunes, where our riders kept sharpening their skills on soft sand. The golden waves of the desert were impossible to resist, making it hard to stick to schedule.

As a result, we arrived at our next bivouac after dark, navigating tough terrain under the stars—a challenging but unforgettable experience! 🌌🔥

Day 6: Sun, Sand, and Desert Magic ☀️🏜️

Finally, the sun is shining! After days of cloudy skies, we kicked off the morning with a bright start, ready for another day of adventure.

Leaving our bivouac, we rode through our first truly massive dunes, making stops along the way to admire ancient rock paintings and engravings—traces of history hidden in the Sahara.

We also visited the "Twins", two perfectly mirrored rock pillars standing in the middle of the dunes, an incredible sight in this vast landscape.

The day’s biggest challenge? Crossing the Moulanaga dune pass—a potentially difficult and dangerous section, especially for our support truck. But thanks to an outstanding off-road truck and the skill of our driver, Goran, we made it through with ease!

We ended the day at a spectacular bivouac spot beneath the mountains, overlooking the dunes. As night fell, we gathered around the fire with our local guides, sharing stories and sipping traditional green tea—a perfect way to wrap up an incredible day.

Day 5: Night in the Desert 🏜️✨

The journey through Tadrart continues under cloudy skies. Today, we tackled rocky tracks, faced our first big dunes, and even had a minor crash—thankfully, all ended well. 💪

Before reaching our next bivouac, we took on towering dunes, pushing both riders and bikes to their limits. 🏍️

We set up camp near the famous "Helicopter" rock formation in the stunning El Berdj valley.

As the evening unfolded, the sky finally cleared, revealing an endless sea of stars (just look at timelapse video of the night!). 🌌 Our first true desert night, and what a sight it was.

🌟 Day 4: Djanet to Tadrart 🏜️🏍️

Cloudy skies, chilly weather, and even a few drops of rain 🌧️ didn’t dampen our spirits today! We powered through 165 km of incredible terrain. 🚵‍♂️

The reward? A breathtaking bivouac location near towering sand dunes that mesmerized us more than any “Death Railway” ever could. 🌄✨

On Monday at around 2 a.m., our group arrived at Hotel Tenere. The morning revealed its stunning location by an oasis 🌴, surrounded by rocky outcrops, hills, and dunes.

After breakfast, we prepped the motorcycles 🏍️ and had a briefing. Following the local Friday prayer, we rode into the dunes south of Djanet. For some, it was an introduction to new terrain; for others, a reunion with familiar landscapes. The area amazed us with its dark rocky hills, flat plains, and dunes merging into the hills.

We ended the day with dinner in the city 🍽️ and socializing at the hotel, eagerly anticipating the next day’s journey into the desert 🏜️.

After an exciting journey (with a bit of rain to keep things interesting 🌧️), we’ve finally made it to Djanet! 🎯 This is where the adventure truly begins as we prepare to meet our guests flying in to join us. 🛬

🌟 Day 2: Challenges on the Road! 🛣️🏍️

Adventure is never without its surprises, and today brought a few dilemmas for our team!

⛽ The Gasoline Dilemma:
It seems the fuel we filled for our motorcycles might have been mixed with some leftover diesel. 🤔🛢️ That’s a definite no-go for our brand-new motorcycles! 🏍️ While waiting for confirmation, we’re considering using the mixture in our trucks instead. 🚛 If not, we’ll have to get rid of it entirely. Fingers crossed for a good solution! 🤞

🛞 Tire Troubles:
The rough roads have been tough on our tires, but nothing our team can’t handle! 💪 We’re making the necessary fixes as we go to keep the journey rolling. 🚐🔧

🌟 Day 1: Our Algerian Enduro Adventure Begins! 🏍️🇩🇿

For those who couldn’t join us, don’t worry! You can follow our journey here with daily updates. 📹✨

Our first day kicked off in full gear after disembarking the ferry from Italy. 🚢 With two fully loaded trucks carrying enduro bikes, food supplies, and all the essential tools, we’re ready for the challenges ahead!

Since we’re constantly on the move with limited internet access, we’ll share daily video updates along with a bit of text to keep you in the loop. 🗺️💬

🔧 Milestone Moment: Our legendary 36-year-old Iveco has officially crossed the 100,000 km mark! 🎉 Did you know that 65% of those kilometers were conquered in just the last five years? 💪 With terrains like these, we’re confident it still has a glorious 900,000 km ahead!

The days are getting shorter, and soon we’ll be singing Christmas carols and waiting under the tree to see what Santa Claus has brought us.

Some may hope for new tires, a better exhaust, or a big stash of gas for endless rides. 🏍️💨

Tilen’s love for deserts, combined with professional field experience in tourism business since 1996, gave birth to the Desert Soul brand in 2003.

Till 2010, Desert Soul was only promoting desert adventure, cultural interchange and the beauty of desert landscapes while extending the horizons of (mainly) Western tourism markets. Since then, the Desert Soul Adventures brand runs guided enduro motorcycle and mountain bike tours in Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Slovenia and Bosnia and provides rally assistance in Europe and the MENA (Middle East & North Africa) region.

Thanks to Tilen’s knowledge of languages, our tours are guided in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Croatian and Slovenian, but he can also communicate in French, Italian, German and Arabic.
