I've just seen a post with some new crazy expensive fees coming out for people getting Thai Visas in New Zealand.

Elite Visas and UPGRADES

The worst kept secret is out , the Thai Elite Visa program will be changing and if you already have the the 5 year package you have 2 weeks to upgrade if you want the 20 year no frills option for 1 million baht.

If you want the basic no frills option, before the price skyrockets, you have 6 weeks to get it done. Applications finish 15th September and new packages aimed at the ultra rich Chinese market will be announced on the first of October when all previous packages will be consolidated.

Make sure to check your visa dates and contact us earlier rather than later because visas are taking longer to be processed through the Ministry of Education.

When you are processing your visa early there's a lot less stress on everyone to get the visa done.

There's some land border crossing stuff going on right now and it's very annoying. Something that was easy is being made difficult.

Please make arrangements for exiting other ways and preferably entering back not through BKK.

Basically all people in Thailand doing a northern border run are being classed as criminals.

They are being denied under this clause

Section 12 Aliens which fall into any of the following categories are excluded from entering into the Kingdom:

(7) Having behavior which would indicated possible danger to the public or likelihood of being a nuisance or constituting any violence to the peace or safety of the public or to the security of the public or to the security of the nation, or being under warrant of arrest by competent officials of foreign governments.

TOP VISA TIP - THAILAND

Lots of people are leaving their visas for the very last minute and guess what, they don't have enough time because everyone else is doing the same.

RIGHT NOW THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION PROCESSING IS ONE MONTH!

Ministry of Education processing is the main thing when you go to a school to apply for a long term visa in Thailand. You wouldn't believe the number of people who wait until the very last minute!

Doing visas early creates less stress for everyone and less likelihood of overstay or extra visa/border runs. Your visa paperwork is valid for a month so you have time to arrange the visa changeover in your own time once you have the paperwork.

You wouldn't believe the number of people who we can't help or have to take the expensive options because there's no other choice. In country changeover is available and takes 21 days at immigration, but will end soon. Out of Thailand one year visas are mostly around 35k baht for the year and 50k baht for in country changeover.

If you are living in Chiang Mai and getting a visa outside Chiang Mai be aware immigration is watching.

Also immigration are checking out what's going on because some nasties have been getting visas and doing bad things and getting caught.

According to new regulations from Chiang Mai immigration, non-immigrant B and O visa holders will no longer be able to apply for a visa change within Thailand after November 16, 2022.
Non-immigrant ED holders from language schools can still apply without leaving Thailand, but non-immigrant ED holders from universities must wait until tomorrow for a new announcement.

Great news coming on Saturday 1st October!

The Government Gazette has announced that COVID-19 will be classified as a communicable disease under monitoring from October 1 onward. The National Communicable Disease Committee recently held a meeting to determine practical guidelines for the current state of the disease. It also resolved to lift the vaccine and COVID test requirements for entry into Thailand.

Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul affirmed after attending the National Communicable Disease Committee meeting that the COVID situation is improving worldwide as well as in Thailand. Figures for admitted patients, critical patients and fatalities have continued to drop and 82% of the population is estimated to have developed an immunity to the disease.

The meeting endorsed the plan for designating COVID-19 as a communicable disease under monitoring for the October 2022-September 2023 period. Approval was therefore given for its status as a hazardous communicable disease to be lifted and relegated to the 57th communicable disease under monitoring. The move was carried out in accordance with the Communicable Diseases Act B.E. 2558 announced in the Government Gazette. The change will take effect on October 1.

The meeting will also present four strategies for monitoring of COVID-19 to the Cabinet. These are to involve the measures for disease prevention, monitoring and control; treatment; communication of disease risk; and legal, societal and economic management.

Additionally, the committee endorsed new prevention and monitoring measures associated with Thailand’s entry procedures. Proof of vaccination or ATK test results will no longer be needed, though travelers may still be subject to inspections if they exhibit symptoms of hazardous or emerging diseases.

Thailand’s Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) approved the proposal by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) to extend the period of stay to 45 days for tourists from countries/territories entitled for visa exemption, and to 30 days for those eligible for a Visa on Arrival (VOA). This will be in effect from 1 October, 2022, until 31 March, 2023.

UPDATED INFO FOR VIENTIANE CONSULATE.

With visas slowly starting to be processed outside Thailand, the "local" Chiang Mai visa run to Vientiane requires 2 days processing. It's NOT overnight like it was for many years! (Whisper is Savannakhet is still overnight).

An appointment must be made via https://thaivisavientiane.com No walk-ins will be accepted.
Prepare documents according to the visa type and fill the visa application form.
Visit the Consular Section of the Royal Thai Embassy, Vientiane on the date and at the time of your appointment. Submit the documents and pay the visa fee.

We are being inundated with people who are looking for long term visa options with less than one month until their current visas expire. There is almost nothing we can do.

If you are on COVID extension and started with any other visa except for a tourist visa, you have had your last COVID extension. For tourist visa holders you need to get your probably last COVID extension before 25th of March.

📌 Important note to volunteer visa without work permit holders before especially the visa issued in 2020-2021

If you plan to entry to Thailand on a visa exemption
-prepare return flight ticket and the other documents matter to proof you’re a tourist
-prepare proof of cash at least THB20k or equivalent
-Avoid Suvarnabhumi airport
-keep in touch with your visa agent before you fly to Thailand

OR better if you could apply for a visa at Thai Embassy to get a NEW visa before you travel to Thailand
