Pennsylvania American Water Works Association Young Professionals Provide a means to access the energy, innovation and talent of young individuals for advancement of Objectives:

1. Why Get Involved?

1.

An American Water Works Association “Young Professional” is a member of AWWA under the age of 35 OR with less than 10 years experience who works or is involved in the water industry. This includes those working for utilities, regulatory agencies, consulting firms, or academic institutions. Retain committee members, and increase “active” committee membership.

2. Initiate student chapters at PA col

leges and universities.

3. Increase YP presence on other PA AWWA committees.

4. Expand committee diversification: business, cultural, employment, etc.

5. Moderate and present technical sessions at PA AWWA Annual Conference.

6. Volunteer and coordinate Fresh Ideas Poster Competition at PA AWWA Annual Conference.

7. Offer YP Session at PA AWWA Annual Conference.

8. Organize at least one social/networking event. Meet other professionals…
young and old. Be a NAME, not just a face!

2. Learn… Exchange ideas and experiences. Gain service and educational tools. Learn from technical tours and seminars.

3. Grow… Take a leadership role
and take advantage of educational opportunities. Network for the future.

4. Have fun… At both the state
and national level. Attend shows and seminars.
