Self drive safaris gives you freedom to go where you please. With reward comes risk.
Knowing Animal behavior and the signs of an animal in distress is something that guides learn over many years.
If in doubt, stay back, allow wild animals to pass without changing their behavior.
Oh, and learn how to reverse like this guy!

Is this too close for comfort?
The question over how close wild animals should be allowed to come to humans, and be allowed to interact is always a controversial topic of discussion.

This video happened recently at a predator park in South-Africa.
The man is believed to be in a serious condition in hospital.
What is your opinion about predator parks? Do they serve a role in education or are they merely a form of tourism that some people believe are the foreground to the canned hunting industry?

Nothing to see here, just a rhino walking casually down the street.
Anna Szymusik, 35, from Leeds, was travelling in Suaraha, Nepal, when she saw the huge mammal strolling through the streets, much to the amazement of onlookers.
The animal is assumed to have come from the nearby Chitwan National Park.
The Indian rhinoceros (Rhinoceros unicornis), also called the greater one-horned rhinoceros and, is a rhino native to the Indian subcontinent.

This is so hard to watch! A young, tame rhino had it's horns brutally cut off by poachers last night on a farm in South Africa. The animal was alive during this traumatic event. THIS is what we are dealing with, every single day.
The person taking this video reduced to tears by the end of this short clip.
We are currently failing our rhinos at a rate of over 1000 animals brutally poached in South Africa per year. Despite increased anti-poaching efforts, it is impossible to have eyes everywhere all of the time. Due to high unemployment rates and a low minimum wage, it is just too tempting for people to get involved in this lucrative business. These heinous crimes are coordinated by highly organised underground crime syndicates and the horns are sold on the black market to countries such as China and Vietnam. In these Asian countries, the horns are used in traditional medicines despite extensive research proving that they yield no medicinal benefit.
There seems to be no end to this slaughter. Human greed once again causing the demise of a species.
