The Western Cape has so many options for day trips when visiting this part of the world or for those of us who live here. Hermanus is 1hours drive from Cape Town, with beautiful beaches, the Fernkloof Nature Reserve and the beautiful Hemel en Aarde Wine valley. Enjoy the scenic route via Sir Lowrys pass or take the coastal route along Clarence Drive.

A massive thank you to Lindsey Killops Gibaud from Big Tree Marketing, Ilios for the transport, CanyB Global Events for awesome Amazing race activities and Nederberg Wine Estate for hosting us Tour operators today. The estate has a little something for everyone ... The days activities were rounded up with picnic boxes for lunch, good wines set on the sprawling lawns.

We are spoiled for choice in the Western Cape when it comes to our attractions. As citizens we get to board the cable car for free and experience a return journey on our birthday. This birthday special allows us to go on any day within our birthday Month, TX to San Parks. As Capetonians we have no excuse to not visit our 7th wonder to experience the ride to the top of the Table and to be able to enjoy the view from above on clear days. This is a weather driven activity, the car will not operate on very windy days. Unfortunately it was quite misty when we went up, however we still enjoyed the experience. Thank you to , QUEEREYETOURS.COM for my Red Bus tickets. We boarded the Table Mountain bus at the Stop outside the Two Oceans Aquarium and enjoyed a short City before disembarking at Table Mountain. After our Table Mountain experience we went back to the VA on the Red Bus and boarded the Blue bus/Mini Peninsula Tour which took us along the M3 via Kirsten Bosch on to Houtbay. Unfortunately due to the lack of time we could not do our birthday special at The Aquarium, will shelve that outing for next time out.

We are spoiled for choice in the Western Cape for amazing Camp sites. This past weekend we were in the Breede River Valley at Stille Waters Campsite near Rawsonville. Sites allow for privacy for a party of about 30 on individual sites of about 100mtx100mt each with its own ablutions, fridges,

Today we wrapped up our Future Leaders program for this year at Langa High school. It's always interesting to see how the learners respond to the information that is shared and of course the enthusiasm and the quality of the questions is very encouraging. The hilites are always the prizes they win for answering questions on the topics covered or anything relavent to Tourism. 2 of the learners landed themselves 2 tickets each to the Aquarium. Thank you to the Team Love Cape Town and Big Tree Marketing for this collaboration and opportunity for us as Industry players to pay it forward.

So Cape Town has once again been celebrated for coming out tops, this time Conde Naste Traveller Readers Choice awards have named us as the World's best Food City, we are truly spoiled for choice in the Culinary environment. 1 such option is restaurant @ Groot Constantia where we as Tourism mentors enjoyed an amazing appreciation Dinner hosted by Love Cape Town for our roles in the Future Leaders Workshops at a number of schools offering Tourism as a subject where we engage with the learners unpacking the career opportunities that this industry has to offer and the channels to follow to get them started on their journeys should they wish to persue careers in Tourism and Hospitality. A hi light for me was that we were joined by quite a number of the Tourism educators as well. Tourism is a significant contributor to South Africa's economy and is expected to continue growing. The subject should not be treated as an easy out to fill subject requirements at schools, which is why we have committed ourselves through this program to help our young people see what the possibilities are in this industry. The Food was awesome and the Vibe was just what many need after a very busy year and as we go into a promising Summer season. Thank you to the Team Town Tourism, Lindsey Killops Gibaud from Big Tree Marketing along with the WCED for facilitating the schedules and program for our visits to schools.

Today we discovered the Gay Cape Quarter through an awesome activity facilitated by the The Gallivanting Goose in partnership with Travel MassiveCPT, I AM CAPE Town, Alroy Bailey from AB Creations, Queen Bee Hospitality Marketing, QUEEREYETOURS.COM, we set off from Cafe Manhattan, the clues and challenges led us through the Quarter to Honey & Dorah where we enjoyed awesome bites prepared by Alroy Bailey from ABCreations and refreshments as well as awesome prizes were won and some live entertainment enjoyed

Today the Tourism Youth Workshop program hosted by Big Tree Marketing and Love Cape Town took us to Woodlands High school in Mitchells Plain where we engaged with a very enthusiastic and energetic group of Grade 10 Tourism learners, 140 learners in total. These workshops afford us as Tourism and Hospitality players to engage the learners to help them appreciate what career opportunities are possible in the industry. The future of our Industry looks bright and loaded with possibilities. Thank you to the colleagues who came out today. Also congratulations to Henko and his team at Tales from Africa for having been awarded the prestigious Skal Sustainable Tourism Award. 👏✨
