I was happy to be involved at Blaauwberg Nature Reserve last weekend with the talk by Ian van Oordt on the Waldeckers retreat at the battle of Blaauwberg. It was the 216th anniversary of the battle and the Friends of Blaauwberg Conservation Area as always held an event. My involvement was to introduce Ian and to advise the attendees on the importance of Ian's book that was published last year. Following the talk I then had the very happy task of presenting the Reserve with a copy of Ian's book for research purposes.
