Melrose Arch in Jhb has once again put on a wonderful display of Christmas lights for patrons to enjoy. The workmanship involved in setting up the display is certainly not an easy task. Lemonicious is located right in front of the old harbour in Hermanus. Take a walk upstairs to this fine dining establishment and you will be greeted by their friendly staff.
Lemonicious is a sushi and seafood restaurant that also has grilled dishes.
Our waiter Bongani was extremely efficient and friendly.
Starters consisted of Oysters and we chose a sushi platter and the line fish of the day, Kabeljou with roasted vegetables.
Further upstairs is their Skybar where we chose to eat our meals with the incredible view of the bay.
The lower restaurant views will also not disappoint and the whales can easily be seen frolicking just off the shore.
We were fortunate that we were the first whale spotter from the restaurant and we were gifted a free cocktail and a R250 gift voucher from the Art Thirst Gallery. Thank you for these gifts.

Perched on the east side of the Knysna Heads is the wonderful East Head Cafe’. The views of the mouth between the heads is breathtaking and is complimented by the food and service of this little gem.
Guests have a choice to sit inside or outside under cover. Both present fantastic scenery while you enjoy your meal or drink.
The food is well prepared with fresh ingredients and prices are reasonable.
Make sure you add this to your list of restaurants when visiting Knysna.

Our stay in Knysna gave us the opportunity to visit the Knysna Elephant Park. I am always humbled by the shear size, beauty and gracefulness of elephants. These elephants are all orphans with various backgrounds. The Knysna Elephant Park is a place of safety and care for these unfortunate orphans. You may purchase a bucket of fruit and veggies to feed the elephants. As soon as the tractor pitches up every half hour, these elephants know they are in for a treat and come scuttling over. The feeding area consists of a steel fence to keep the over zealous beasts from trampling you. After feeding, interest is soon lost and they wonder off into the fields again. You may walk with your guide next to the elephants as they graze. Certainly a great experience and to support a great cause.
Make sure this park goes on your bucket list.

We took a drive from Plet up to Uniondale along the R339 road through Prince Alfred’s Pass. The pass was built by Thomas Bain in the 1860’s. The road is gravel with a few sections with bad potholes and ruts, however a 4wd is not needed for this drive. A grader had starting work on our return trip so this should make the trip more pleasant. On Arrival in Uniondale, we drove straight up to the old Boer Fort from the Anglo Boer War. This site is one of four places that the Boers used against the British in 1901.
We were told of a toy car collection in town, and after a bit of asking around we found the place at Flash Cash on the main road. We were taken downstairs to a room that contained display cabinets with hundreds of 1:18 scale cars.

Tucked away in the south end from the busy main center of Knysna, lies a charming small restaurant, gourmet deli and coffee shop in Belvidere Estate. Oak Leaf caters for all guests, whether you are vegan, vegetarian or a meat eater.
Cyclists and runners are also welcome and frequent here regularly. And if you have your fur friend, bring them along as long as they are on a leash. They even have a specialty on the menu for them for R25. 🐶

Prices are reasonable and according to their website, all their produce is ethically sourced locally to ensure you have the best and freshest ingredients served to you.

This is just the place to be if you are in search of a restaurant with little distraction to catch up on those emails, or just to have some space.

GOLFERS NEEDED - COME & SINK A PUTT TO SAVE A MUTT
30th October 2021, Clarens Golf Club, Free State

The Cluny Animal Trust do amazing work, providing veterinary care across the entire eastern Free State, a region that is as big as England! They do all of this on fundraising and because of COVID this event did not happen last year, so they need this to be a huge fundraiser!

With over R55,000 in prizes and more coming in every day, this really is a charity golf day that should not be missed.

If Clarens is on your bucket list of places to visit and play golf, then this is as good an excuse as any to make the trip. With the 1st November 2021 a public holiday, you can still come for the weekend and make it home in time to vote in the afternoon.

My Town South Africa is in Tsitsikamma. We stopped in to grab a milkshake from Wow this place is really cool with a great vibe. Judging by the size of the burgers been served to customers you better come hungry.
