Not much can match the beauty of a big Bushbuck ram. This is a fine specimen with polished tips and ridges. They don't come much better than this.
Bushbuck are by far one of the most challenging hunts, however this ram we were lucky enough to get within an hour of heading out for one. We spotted a ewe and the ram was slowly making his way to her through the thick scrub, with a light yelp he stopped long enough to look around and a perfect shot was executed. Congratulations.
Great success with an excellent Steenbuck as the quest for the tiny 10 continues. Steenbok have good eyesight and excellent hearing, and are adept at spotting danger. Their defense mechanism is to stand still, hiding for as long as possible. If this ploy isn't successful, they will flee, running in a zig-zag pattern to escape the predator chasing them. During their dash to safety, they typically stop periodically, look back and try to hide again by freezing. They have been seen to escape and hide in abandoned dens and burrows.
A beautiful Klipspringer we hunted high up in the mountains of the Eastern Cape. Klipspringer translated to English means rock jumper, their hooves are the consistency of hard rubber, absorbing the shock of their huge leaps. Their fur is hollow like a Porcupines quills and helps to absorb and protect them from any falls when leaping across the rocks. This ram had previously broken the leg sticking out and it had fused back together without hindering him to much as can be seen by his pristine condition. They are part of the Tiny 10 and make for a challenging hunt.

The Grey Rhebuck fondly known as the Vaalie are one of our favorite critters to hunt in the Eastern Cape. They are one of the most challenging hunts in SA as these little guys are found in the mountains with rolling grass hills, so closing the distance is no easy task. They usually spot the Hunter long before we spot them. They are very territorial and will fight to the death if another ram enters there territory. Congrats to our hunter on a beautiful ram.

Bart & Mat with two Burchell's Zebra. Zebra make for great table fare and is often a favorite on the Braai for many clients visiting camp. The Burchell's unlike the Cape mountain Zebra is far more widespread across Southern Africa. They are heavy grazers and can incur substantial pressure on grazing, making it important to keep numbers in check as they have no natural predators in most areas. Congratulations guys.
Bart with a beautiful Red Hartebeest, also known as the Cape Hartebeest. Red Hartebeest are grass feeders, which is evidenced by their long snouts, which give them the advantage of an improved cropping ability to acquire and masticate grasses more efficiently. They are a unique and underrated trophy.
Mat with a beautiful Bushbuck ram. Bushbuck are a close relative to the Kudu and Nyala and some similarities can be seen in them.
They are a very shy animal and are mostly active early mornings and late afternoons and these are the preferred hunting times for them. They can be extremely aggressive when wounded and caution must be taken when approaching them.

Bart & Mat can't resist taking a Fallow Deer every time they visit Africa. Fallow deer were introduced to South Africa in 1869 by the British settlers and have become prominent throughout many parts of the country and make for great table fare.
It just couldn't get any better with the quality of trophies we have been taking. Mat connected on an absolute monster Waterbuck. We bumped this bull a couple days before but couldn't get a shot at him. We decided to go back after leaving him settle down for a couple days. Well once again it payed off. We spotted him at 1100 yards through the spotting scope and were contemplating taking the shot because there was no way of getting closer other than walk right up on him in a small clearing in the thick brush. We decided it was too risky with the slight breeze so we chose to sneak in, Mat took the shot through a small opening in the brush at 40 yards. Congratulations on a proper Waterbuck Mat.
We have had great success with another huge Kudu bull with deep curls. We have great areas, join us on a Safari of a lifetime. Congratulations Mat on a bull of a lifetime.
We on another giant critter waiting for a shot, the beauty about Bridger Safaris is that we are not restricted where we can hunt and we take you to the best areas for the best possible trophy we can get you. Did we get it??? You will have to wait and see.

Bart connected on a massive Kudu today. He was in the prone position for an hour waiting for the bull to present a shot at 530y. It took us another hour to get to the bull through the thick brush and then the work started trying to get him back to the truck. Hard work pays off, congrats on a brute.
We have been putting in the hard time on Bushbuck and it payed off with Mat connecting on a great Bushbuck ram. They are one of the shyer species we have to offer and are extremely difficult to hunt, but are also extremely aggressive and dangerous when threatened or wounded. Congratulations on a great ram.
It's not every day that you get to shoot an absolute monster of a Nyala like this superb bull. We had been scouting this bull for about 6 months and Mat was lucky enough to be with as at the time of spotting him yesterday. With the rain bucketing down and him slowly slipping into the thick brush Mat with some quick thinking cracked him with a freehand shot out the shoulder.

Don with a good looking Red Lechwe. Lechwe are close family members to the Waterbuck and have similar characteristics and habits. They are one of the most aquatic African antelope yet they adapt very well and breed prolifically in the mountain ranges of the Karoo. Congratulations on a great trophy.
Don with a magnificent old Copper Blesbuck. The Copper has a good looking coat that will make for a fine trophy. They have become more affordable over the years to the hunter due to well managed populations. Congratulations Sir.
