We always advocate for couples to go on EXPERIENCE dates, not just the done-to-death Dinner Date 🙄🥱
So in walking the talk, we went on a very different type of date, ending with an overnight stay at a very unique venue.
We went on a Heritage Tour called "Murder and Madness in the North" which was a bus tour of the Northumberland suburbs of JHB, visiting the sites of many infamous murders and insane events in recent history
Then we stayed at the gorgeous Gatsby in Houghton. An authentic Randlord Mansion built in the 1920s and maintained in the original style. It's like stepping back in time 100 years! Get in touch for details about how to book either of these experiences.

We had the absolute pleasure of staying at this gorgeous hidden gem nestled at the top of Munro Drive in Houghton, with gorgeous views of JHB, Sandton etc. The Gatsby is a stunning, original Randlord Mansion built in the 1920s, and it is perfectly maintained in the original style, making it feel like you've stepped through a portal, and gone back in time. We stayed in the beautiful Bo***ir Suite which has a spacious dressing room and exquisite sunken bathroom. This is a MUST SEE experience, and the rates are very budget friendly. Gina, the owner, is always on hand to see to guests every need, and her cooking is wolrd class!

Today we started watching Fantastic Beasts, in chronological order, over the next few Wednesdays. When we notice our irritation hitting maximum levels, we know it's time for a quick get-away together. We've stayed at this gorgeous hidden gem a few times, and it never disappoints. It's excellent value for money, the rooms are spacious and beautiful, and the food is delicious.
But most of all, we had some very needed alone time, to reconnect and recharge our batteries. Now we can head back home and be great parents once more.

As we embrace this new month, we can't help but reminisce about our unforgettable time at Bakwena Spa! 🤩 From start to finish, it was an experience worth cherishing, and we're thrilled to share the highlights with all of you.

Celebrating my husband's birthday there was a decision we'll never regret. The team at Bakwena Spa went above and beyond to make our day extra special, and their attention to detail truly touched our hearts.
