We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the George Herald for highlighting the critical issue of safety on the railway tracks running into the beautiful Outeniqua Mountains from George.

We emphasize the importance of adhering to the strict rules and safety standards set by Transnet. These tracks are used daily, and only authorized personnel are permitted to use or alter this infrastructure. While innovative ideas and gadgets, such as the bicycle/train track contraption, may seem interesting and fun, they pose significant risks.

Unauthorized use of the railway tracks can be extremely dangerous and may result in tragic consequences. Safety is our top priority, and we urge everyone to respect and follow the established guidelines.

Thank you once again, George Herald, for bringing attention to this vital safety concern.

Due to the weather and strong winds over the past couple of days, we've been busy clearing trees that fell on the train tracks.

This work has kept us occupied, but it's essential to ensure that the Powervan George train can continue to operate and showcase the stunning mountain views to our wonderful guests.
