Settlers Safaris was founded by Murray Crous in 2002. As a child of six years old he was introduced to hunting by his father. Although based in the MALARIA FREE Eastern Cape of South Africa, we hunt throughout Southern Africa and offer 46 species to be hunted including all of the Big 5.

Got to watch a blesbuck give birth today. Didn't want to disturb, so didn't go too close. Video shows the new born lamb getting to its feet within 10 minutes of been born. Nature is amazing.

When we recieve permits from Nature conservation to hunt some of these unique critters we can offer them to the discerning hunter. We usually only get 1 aardvark permit per annum to hunt even though they have a strong thriving population. Aardwolf and bat eared fox permits are slightly more readily available. If you are interested in hunting some of these unique species please contact us and let's start planning your hunt.

Always nice taking the youngsters out to hunt. To see the excitement on their face when they realized the animal has gone down after a textbook shot.

We managed to squeeze in two more fantastic animals before the heavens opened up once again.
Both these animals were as old as the hills, definitely the right ones to take out the group.

What an awesome day we have had!

Another monster white blesbuck down, we have very impressive blesbuck genetics on the property...
The kudu gave us a bit of a run around but we managed to get him down in the salt with some very impressive shooting.
Two stunning animals, congratulations to the hunters...

What an awesome day!
We were after a few exotics today and managed to bag three spectacular animals.
Dan completes his impala slam and his wife-to-be, Ashlee got her first African animal.
Big congratulations to you on your wonderful achievements.

In the meantime Jason gets himself a very good warthog in the cold rainy weather, not often that you spot warthog out in the rain but they eventually have to come out and eat. So Jason was quick on the trigger and knocked this pig down with one shot.

What an amazing day....

Awesome start to the trip....
With the lovely rain, hunting has been difficult but we managed to knock down a cull impala and absolute monster of a white blesbuck. Alot more to come.......

Another African beauty. The "Nyala",what a unique animals with so many different colours. Part of the spiral horned family, definitely a sought-after animal. If you look at the pictures you can see why.....

Always nice to see the youngsters getting involved in the hunt.
Being in the bush and experiencing nature and the outdoors is so important for their upbringing.

What a year it has been,full of excitement! We recapture the memories in a short video..... Never a dull moment when you book a hunt with us!!

Waterbuck bull down..... what an exciting stalk. Up and down mountains looking for this magnificent animal. After hunting him for two days we finally got a chance and Marvin executed a perfect shot ,low on the shoulder. He ran about 50m and tumbled down.

Talk about a "Death Run" This front flip takes it to a whole new level.

When we let the hounds loose and all hell breaks loose......some quick shooting was needed but the guys were up for the challenge. Well done gents you guys were on top form.

We continue with some cull animals. As seen we mostly select the old and bad genetics. They have no value to the herd.

What an amazing day in Africa..when Mother Nature shows off in this manner we can only stop and show our appreciation. After the clouds rolled in our visibility was less than 20m so we packed up and went for early lunch with a bbq/braai in the comfort of a nice warm lodge. Early afternoon we set out for the sable we spotted in the morning and within an hour we were back on him. We managed to stalk up close and with one well placed double lung shot the monster went down. A huge congratulations to our client and his absolute beaut of a sable.
