A little bit of PE.

We’ve read about them in the news and today I had to go and see what the hype is about! Deliciously different delights was the order of the day at WyWorrie in Jeffreys Bay. I started off with a TRUTH cappuccino and a chorizo & Dutch boerenkaas phyllo pastry baked in an egg custard, followed by the item I’ve been eyeing on the menu for the longest time! The Salted Caramel & Macadamia cheesecake was beautifully presented, and the popcorn topping added another surprising burst of flavour - making it my top recommendation for the day!!

It’s the perfect micro artisan cafe, with freshly prepared items, excellent service and a pet friendly area! Well done to Johan D. Strydom & LG!!

Beach time in Jeffreys Bay!

Having grown up in PE, Jeffreys Bay was our quick go-to mini-holiday destination as well as the annual bi-yearly family holiday spot. Later in life it was the oyster of student life and freedom. It holds endless ice-cream, beach time, board games, hiking, horse riding and family memories! What better way to spend it with my sister visiting from Oz?

The Tiramisu Cookie with espresso Martini (pic 1) was my absolute favourite part of dessert!

If there is one thing I love to combine with traveling, it’s exploring the local cuisine! This was, hands down, one of my top culinary experiences to date! My sister is visiting from Australia en we decided to try out nevermind_capestfrancis at the Seal Point Lighthouse in Cape St Francis.

What a delight of delicious and flavoursome pairings! Their entire menu is geared for a sharing experience, making it easy to sample a few of their dishes!
The first round included:
Pic 1: Crispy Artichokes, Cremolata & Parmesan

Pic 2: Roasted Paneer: Aubergine kasundi, seasonal Patensie citrus

Pic 3: Squid Sticks: Cooked on Charcoal, burnt butter, chimichurri

Pic 4: Japanese Mushroom Hot Pot: Yuzu ponzu, duck breast, ginger & sesame

Pic 5: Local Braaied Fish: Lemon dashi beure noisette, saffron aioli baby potatoes.

PE peeps! Hit the road for a day trip and go for a game drive at Pabala Private Nature Reserve close to Hankey,EC.
The views are breathtaking and we saw a range of antelope, including kudu, nyala, mountain reedbuck, zebra, bontebok, blesbok, the beautifully unusual copper blue wildebeest and a copper springbuck.
Stopping at a viewpoint for coffee and snacks was a highlight!

Seal Point Lighthouse in Cape St Francis in the Eastern Cape is the tallest masonry lighthouse in South Africa at 27.75m. Built in 1878, it is situated on the South Easternmost Point of Africa. You can also book accommodation for a unique stay in the lighthouse.
