One of our most favorite trails in the coast the Tsitsikama Hiking Trail taking us through the beach of Natures Valley and all the way in the fynbos of Tsitsikama as we climb the opposite Direction of the Otter Trail to the Mountain peaks.

The year of the “Explorer “ 🛣️🌄🌅
So excited the year has began and it’s time to set your plans on conquering those mountains and exploring those beautiful plains.
We starting from the Valley of the Northern Drakensburg for the Tugela expedition before we set off to Sani Pass down the escarpment for the Giants Cup trail.
The popular Otter and Leopard Trail have sold out Tags when we go down to the eastern coast. It’s going to be a party at the beach when we embark on the newly refurbished Tsitsikama trail to end of the summer. We closing the 1st half with the Augraubies National Park hike. Let’s explore!

We conquered the sandstone mountain peaks and slept in Caves where the bushman once habitant. A jol in the mountains to enter the festive season.

Magoebaskloof is a magical gem of nature. The indigenous forest scattered streams and waterfalls along the trails making up a cool swim in summer days before a picturesque plantation of pines steal the trail. You have to see it to believe it 🌳🌴🌲
Our festive season hike closes the curtains for an eventful year of hiking 🥾 so don’t miss this gem.

Golden Gate & Clarens
Hike ⛰🏕
0ne of our favorite trails in the most beautiful part of the country The Golden Gate National Park and certainly our favorite town Clarens in the Free state.
Spoilt for choice when it comes to trails we conquering the Cathedral Cave trail for a heritage eduction of the golden gate with its sand stone jaw dropping mountains when we visit the waterfall cave the cathedral for a dive in the rock pool
We then head over to the Cannibal Cave shaving the Maluti mountains in the back drop for a night in the majestic cave in Clarens.
We starting the festive with some mountain therapy 🏔🏜 and details are as follows

Depart & return : 2pm 1st Dec & back 7pm 3rd Dec
Trail : Cathedral Cave 7km , Cannibal Cave 15km.
Difficult rating: 5/10 not a difficult trail. Regular fitness and beginners welcome

Golden Gate, Rhebok Trail.
The Golden Gate National park rests against the Maluti Mountain range along the Lesotho border all the way to the Clarens town in Free State.
These sand stoned and golden crest mountains rise up from the foot hills of camps till top views peeping over Lesotho with wild life and scenic views all around. It’s a beautiful 2 Day hike so let’s get out to the winter sun ☀️ and some snow peaks snow ⛄️

A summer day in Winter
Best of both worlds in hiking the Tugela falls in the freezing Free State and then dropping down 1000 m altitude the following day to KZN (The Royal Natal) to hike the warmer Tugela Gorge for a winter swim.

We are little excited to be going back in the berg to our all time favorite trails during the winter The Sentinal Peak " Tugela Falls" and the Tugela Gorge in the Royal Natal.
There is some little snow up there and we can't wait to explore all the that over 2 days of hiking and Lodge stay over. Oh! Hands 👆up for an ice dip at the pool cave in the Gorge?

Winter Calender ❄️☃️
The season for Winter hikes has arrived! We going all out adventure climbing the highest peaks in the berg, catching the best sunsets and hiking through some snow before we cozy up at the Boma laughing out the days adventure.
You have to kick out the bucket list of experiencing some snow and trust us the berg has plenty of it this coming winter.

The nights at the Berg will give you some feelings of euphoria… On a good night they are as clear as day when the moon 🌙 lits up the sky with a galaxy 🌌 of lights spot lighting every path and the clouds mushrooming below your feet. This kept us up most of our night to witness the sunrise 🌄 on the Eastern bergs.
It’s been a pleasant summer till next time ❤️
