The walls of Everard Read are painted an earthly orange tone which provides an anchoring atmosphere for Theresa Firmino’s “The Keepers of Time”.

Through a 4 part exhibition she pays homage women to walk before her.

Two years ago, while in the midst of the world greatest hiatus “Covid19” Toura Travel Therapy realized the power of what the tourist market can do for African artists and what African artists can do for the tourist market and decided to launch the first of its kind fulfilling art gallery hopping experience in Johannesburg with a main purpose to create opportunities for tourists to access many local works of fine art.

And today, we’re honoured and thrilled to realise our vision becoming a reality, and commit to intertwine the art and tourism industry in real-time.

The Allure of our Arboreal Allies bears testimony to Leigh’s lifelong reverence of trees. It’s also a triumph of fine painting. The pursuit of intelligently commenting on a habitat, as well as capturing characteristics of a particular specimen requires a rare artists at the peak of their facilities. Leigh effortlessly achieves this combination and, in this exhibition, has produced supremely elegant works of art!

Did you know that, pre-democracy more people of colour were excluded from galleries to learn about enjoying art and investing in it?

Well, things have changed today Toura Travel Therapy are vehemently making sure to promote inclusivity within these knowledge oriented art institutions, and excited to notice that it’s materialising looking at the number of people we’ve introduced in these spaces this far, like the lovely Stephanie here who joined us last Saturday to have her first encounter in galleries.

We glad that this passionate dermatologist have finally found interest in art and especially that she’s hoping to get new ideas that will make her excel into her medical career.

Join us for a mind-blowing, engaging and heart-warming experience aiming to develop and rekindle our passion for Art.

The experience starts from the Redbus pick-up stop in Rosebank to go visit Joburg's prominent art studios before heading down to the RMB Latitudes art fair for an outdoor-indoor art experience at the classy Shepstone Gardens.

I repeat, more and more international tourists are recognizing African artists a great signal that art-tourism is as imperative as other tourism groups and should be singled out from cultural-tourism and be positioned as an independent market in South Africa.

It has the potential to expand the art ecosystem while celebrating African renaissance, diversity and unity through our stories at the same time.

Had a wonderful day with these lovely American exploring Joburg through the lens of Art, we've hopped from one gallery to the next and finished the experience exploring graffiti works in the streets of Jozi Maboneng!
