Chaos on the Savuti Channel!!
There has been a huge gathering of elephants and buffalo along part of the channel and with over 300 elephants in a small area it was a matter of time before something had to give. It just took one buffalo to step out of line before chaos errupted. Elephants started chasing the herd of well over 100 buffalo all over the show and then they started chasing each other. It was such a spectacle to see so many large animals chasing each other around and the audio of the elephants trumpeting was something to behold! It is hard to believe how incredible the viewing will be in this area in the next 4-5 months considering it is only the end of May now!

We were on the last leg of out trip.....It is time to bid farewell to Mishack as he heads back to South Africa with the bus and we cross into Zimbabwe and on to the Victoria Falls, one of the 7 natural wonders of the world.

We stay at the well known Victoria Falls Hotel completed in 1908...it is like walking into a typical British colonial bastion! Pomp and ceremony await.....this is one of the highlights of the tour.

You cannot visit Vic Falls and not visit the local hangouts like Mama Africa's and Shoe String Backpackers. There is of course the huge handcraft market as well.....well worth the visit.

The falls were absolutely magnificent due to high water levels at the time of our visit...the best way to see the majesty of the falls is by helicopter...this MUST be on your bucket list!

Followed by an on foot visit....you get to understand the shear size and magnitude of it all.

Two of our happy travelers had reason to celebrate..... Carry and Tanja Kailis got married at this very hotel a number of years ago and as fate would have it...they actually ended up in exactlly the same hotel room as on their wedding night! An impromptu ceremony was held where they renewed their vows to each other in the same chapel they first got wed.....was a wonderful moment and one to cherish for a long time!!

It was with heavy hearts that we all said our goodbyes as we headed back to South Africa.

Why not contact Tours To Africa today and join us on a once in a life time experience with experienced guid and crew. You will certainly remember your experience for ever!! We look forward to welcoming you on our next adventure!!

From Camp Chobe it was ashort drive to the town of Kasane in Botswana....our home for the next two nights.

We had an early morning game drive in Chobe National Park, 24000 sq km's big. The highlight of the morning was two lion pride sightings approximately 5 km's apart both with buffalo they had killed only hours before our arrival...but the best was yet to come.....we had a leopard sighting in a tree and she then proceeded to stalk an impala ram.....the anticipation was tremendous but the impala made a hasty escape after seeing the leopard....

The afternoon boat cruise is ALWAYS a highlight.....it is a 3 hour cruise on the Chobe River with plenty of game sightings around.

The accommodation at Chobe Marina Lodge was out of this world and nothing was any effort for the staff of this magnificent Lodge.

From Ngepi we travelled east through the Caprivi Strip to our next accommodation for two nights...Camp Chobe on the banks of the Chobe River and a mere 2 km's from the Botswana border.

We were treated to a late afternoon boat cruise and was spoiled with a large herd of Buffalo and also plenty of elephant.

Meals at Camp Chobe is a rather grand affair and we were treated to song and dance by the local people.
