I live in the village of Manguzi, South Africa near the Mozambique border. Our part of South Africa is called Maputoland and we are the Thonga people. Our neighbours to the west are the Zulus in Zululand. Maputoland has almost everything you would want to see in South Africa: big game, local and migratory birds, marine life including turtles - all in a beautiful natural landscape near the seacoast
. I am licensed as a South African guide and I also have my marine, open-water scuba guide certification. I also have something unique to offer because I am a Thonga raised right here in Manguzi with my people's traditions. This means I can show you the real South Africa from the inside. We can visit my friends and relations to learn about local harvesting, food preparation, customs and cultural history. You will get to know this countryside and its people like a local. My lifelong dream has been to share our proud way of life both with other South African people and visitors from afar. This will be something new in our village and we are pretty excited about it.
