Spinning session done and dusted! 4 of us landed our 1st ever Garrick, and what beautiful specimen it was!

I got my 1st fish measuring at 100cm, Shane's 1st Garrick measured 100cm,
Johan Snr person best came in at 91cm and Woodrow's big one came in at 85cm. Christiaan started off with a smaller size Garrick and then later on lost a BUS of a fish...pitty that one came off!

We've learned alot and also got the hang of how they feed on the "flash spinners".

Law enforcement and nature conservation made a turn by us to check licenses...all in oder as usual and they were very impressed with us tagging and releasing the fish.

All in all we ended with 8 fish...what a marvelous day indeed! All the fish was safely tagged and released.

Found this vary "rare" blanket octopus washed out at Melkbosstrand today. Thank you Morne Laubscher for helping me identifying the magnificent creature. Pitty it died....now its kob bait for sure.

This week's fishing/weather update: at last some good south easterly coming throug on Wednesday and Thursday which means Friday and Saturday mornings conditions looks great for kob/sharks fishing!

Tomorrow we'll be doing a light tackle spinning/dropshot session.

Great outing with the youngsters, both brothers going double up with a beautiful Blue Ray and Bronze Whaler Shark. The bronzie was caught on straight mono, no steal trace, which makes this a very memorable catch.
