Our Story
Brain injury is the most devastating disruption in a person’s life and also affects the lives of the injured person's relatives. Since the potential for normal development is diminished after brain injury, the uncertainty of that person's future causes a cloud of depression and pain which envelopes everyone who associates with him or her. Many of us take our abilities for granted. From birth we discover new skills and develop a fuller understanding of the world around us. For children with disabilities this process isn't so easy. It is difficult for them to make sense of the things we take for granted. Reinhardt’s Place exists to help these children reach their full potential and live a fulfilling and personally more rewarding life. Reinhardt’s Place is an organisation whose profile is growing and with a unique approach in this field; to make a difference with love and care for all persons in South Africa in all age brackets and races who are suffering from some form of brain damage. What’s in it for our children and what can you offer that they are not already getting? We offer over 50 years of combined experience, a wide range of expertise from many different disciplines and have helped many families over the years. We are dedicated to looking at the whole child and the family situation and not just at any one medical condition. We at Reinhardt’s Place know how difficult it is to care for a disabled person on a full-time basis. We know the repercussions of such a situation for all the parties concerned only too well and we did extensive research on the subject.
