Vocational training can be a catalyst to advance in South Africa. We are proud to be working with EWSETA, GIZ,German International Cooperation (South Africa), USAID Southern Africa, and Power Africa on the JET Technical Training for Women in Electrical and Renewable Energy initiative, supporting 140 young women from 7 TVET colleges through training and work placement opportunities.
Through this initiative we aim to empower a workforce of young women with the technical proficiencies required for the installation, maintenance, and operation of PV solar systems, and linking them to work place experience and entrepreneurship skills.
As we stand at the cusp of a transformative energy transition in South Africa, the role of technical and vocational training in equipping individuals with the skills and knowledge in renewable energy technologies holds much promise for youth employment.
