M&H Architects had another site visit today at our Irene Glen residence, and more progress visible. Side cladding started on exterior walls, aluminium windows and doors installed, and soon interior finishes will commence.

Construction of our design for the new Clubhouse at The Ridge, Hazeldean progressing well.
The facility will offer a clubhouse for functions with interior and exterior space, a kitchen for catering, a lap pool, two padel courts, landscaped gardens for use by residents, and a parking area.

Our latest project just completed: Providing M&H Architects’ services for additions and alterations to an existing Waterkloof Ridge residence. Interior walls were demolished to link interior spaces, and open the beautiful views over
Pretoria. Additions were made, kitchen and bathrooms re-designed, the sloping garden terraced, a herb garden incorporated, and all interior finishes modernised.

Alterations, construction of the entertainment pavilion, and detailing continues in Bryanston. Craftsmanship remains outstanding. Note the perfect interior arch, and wall edge trim; not commonly found in South Africa.

Progress at Irene Glen Estate. The result of recycling Irene Stone found on site, and used in focal walls coming out very successfully.
So far a pleasure working with Lombard Building, as with many other projects completed with them.

The profiled plastered skirting , opposed to the norm, is really impressive.

Site visit this afternoon to such a beautiful property in Waterkloof Ridge. These old large stands of a bygone era, this one 4323sqm, have such potential, which we’ll investigate in weeks to come. The existing stone walls a feature which we’ll try to incorporate in our proposals.

Progress on site at Irene Glen Estate. First floor slab was cast, and brickwork can commence. The aim is to have the roof up by start of the builder’s holiday in December.

Gister was daar ‘n interessante gesprek op ‘n bouterrein, waar toe nou verwys word na ‘n “Nelspruit tuin” Interessant genoeg, siende my ma in Nelspruit grootgeword het, en ek self my tuin in Pretoria beplan en geplant het, verwys besoekers gereeld dat dit herhinner hulle aan ‘n “Nelspruit tuin”. Ek veronderstel daar is dan iets soos ‘n “Nelspruit tuin”.

Site visit this morning, and a beautiful view over the capitol city, with patches of Jacaranda purple to be seen. Discussion on positioning and size of new terraces to create level areas in the north sloping garden, around the existing pool. At M&H Architects we love getting involved in the landscaping of our projects, and in this case working with Anthony Koury, who did the overall masterplan planting layout.

M&H Architects had an interesting site visit this morning to a half completed and neglected Bryanston residence. We are to assist the new owners in changes, and completion of the project.

Irene Glen Estate: Our project for a new residence is progressing well. Ground floor brickwork mostly completed, and preparation for casting of first floor slab nearly done.

Our project for a new residence on Old Arbor Way, Lake Norman, North Carolina, USA, is nearing completion. We received these views taken from across Lake Norman from our client recently. Once better quality pictures are received, we’ll have them posted.

Mellet & Human has a new challenging project: To re-design and extend a 1960’s thatch roof house in Waterkloof, Pretoria. Extended facilities to include covered outdoor entertainment areas linking the existing pool to the house. We’ll keep you updated on design progress.
