Tourist Killed By Elephant,Malelane:

A tourist has died in the Kruger National Park after being charged and trampled by an elephant.SANParks says the incident happened near Crocodile River at Malelane Gate, Mpumalanga on Saturday the 25 of January.Police have launched an investigation into circumstances leading up to the incident.SANParks is also appealing to the public not to share images of the incident to protect family of the victims.

Big Hole 🇿🇦

The Big Hole in Kimberley, South Africa, also known as the Kimberley Mine, is a famous diamond mine that played a significant role in the history of diamond mining. It was hand-dug during the diamond rush that began in 1871 and continued until 1914. The Big Hole is often considered the largest hand-dug excavation in the world, with a depth of about 215 meters (705 feet) and a perimeter of about 1.6 kilometers (1 mile).

The discovery of diamonds in the area led to a massive influx of miners and prospectors, transforming Kimberley into a bustling town. The mine produced over 14.5 million carats of diamonds during its operational years, making it one of the most productive diamond mines in history.

Today, the Big Hole is a popular tourist attraction and part of the Kimberley Mine Museum, which provides visitors with insights into the history of diamond mining in the region and the impact of the diamond rush on Kimberley and South Africa as a whole.
