Albert Falls Nature Reserve is home to an excellent selection of bushveld, savanna, grassland and wetland bird species, as well as numerous mammals. Some of the great birds weโll be searching for include African Hoopoe, Common Scimitarbill, Black-collared, Pied & Crested Barbet, Red-throated Wryneck, Orange-breasted Bushshrike, Black Cuckooshrike, African Paradise Flycatcher, Rufous-naped Lark, Cape Grassbird, African Yellow Warbler, Croaking, & Lazy Cisticola, Red-billed Oxpecker, Long-billed Crombec and Golden-breasted Bunting among many others.
There is even a chance for rarer species like Coqui Francolin, Southern Tchagra and Bearded Woodpecker. Over 290 bird species have been recorded in the reserve.
Some of the mammals we may seen include Giraffe, Blue Wildebeest, Zebra, Warthog and Impala.
Groups are limited in size in compliance with Covid-19 regulations regarding distancing, so it is essential to book in advance so that numbers can be controlled. Please remember to bring your masks.
