What is a Braai Exactly?

To put it simply, a braai is the South African equivalent of an American barbecue.

A common (and very frequent) practice in any South African household, a braai is a fundamental part of South African culture and is a gathering of friends and family around a wood-fire grill in celebration.

Lamb, beef, chicken, pork, springbok, warthog, ostrich, eland, kudu, steaks and boerewors… Almost nothing is off-limits at the braai! Each piece of meat is marinated and grilled perfectly, and it’s served with side dishes like salads and desserts.

A Scuba Adventure like no other!

We do everything for you – you just relax! We will fetch you from the airport, handle all your transfers, sort out all your deep-sea diving and accommodation needs, arrange extra outings and, finally, we will drop you off at the airport. *All our packages includes transport and are fully guided!*

Matt will be your host. Matt will look after you for your entire trip with WeScuba: he will be your Dive Guide, your Chauffeur, your Entertainer, and, sometimes, even your Cook. He will make you feel right at home.

Matt started diving in 2011. He quickly worked his way up the PADI ladder, reaching the level of IDC Staff Instructor and certifying over two hundred dive students. He has worked and dived the South-East African coastline from Cape Town, South Africa to Ponta do Oura, Mozambique. He has dived The Aliwal Shoal, South Africa for over eight years, and dived The Pinnacles, Mozambique for over five years. Matt is also a keen Shark Guide, working with sharks for the last eight years. He has guided the Sardine Run for several year
