One of the members of our last group of hunters for the year, got a buffalo that ticks all the boxes in my books, big bosses, big drops and a big spread 🙌🏼 this bull was also well aged, a dugga boy out of a small old bachelor herd of three bulls. And the bonus was he was covered in grey dried mud/clay. Taken with one shot from a .375 H&H, top class. Waidmannsheil to the hunter! 🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪

Our new buffalo 🐃 herd are settling in well, they’ve all put on a lot of weight partly from the early rains new growth and from the dry grass left on the veld from winter. Very exciting to see them settle in and become part of the ecosystem at Rhenosterhoek. Excited to learn thier habits and hunting them next season. Pictured is one of the herds lead bulls.

Who’s used this trick before? Tuck your dagga boy in for a campfire 🔥 night with marshmallows and the rest of it. We cleared the surrounds to not start a bush fire, and lit two sentry fires. It worked, the next morning we came back to recover with more daylight on our side and found him without a scratch. There were plenty of small cats tracks around but luckily the lions 🦁 hyaenas and leopards or even jackals didn’t connect with him. Large area helped with a lower predator and prey density. I also believe that the smoke and fire smell helped hide his scent and keep him undetected. The fire would’ve done a good job of fending off other animals.

Old heavy Hog, this hunt has a great story, these two hunters made it happen. 300WM, also some of the best performing rounds I’ve ever seen on safari 🤠🤠 both one shot bwanas, pleasure hunting with them. One of the few buffalo cows I’ve guided over the years. Old lady, she was, taken by a top shelf hunter, privileged to have hunted with him 🤠great shooting too!

This buffalo bull took a solid few shots with a .375 H&H, my hat off to the client, great reloading and putting him down quickly. Celebratory ci**rs and snuss were in order. What a great hunt 🤠🇸🇪

Bow hunting an old warthog boar - a thread. Took him at 30m he ran off about 50m, then the arrow came out, it had almost exited, double lung 🫁 shot, he expired in about a minute. Great hunt yesterday 🏹🙏
